I'm so excited for this weekend. Although I'm not taking part in the GNR (maybe next year...eek!) I'm doing the Great North 5K in Newcastle tomorrow morning and I can't wait!
Mo Farah is starting us off and I'm hoping to get a high five...how cool would that be before setting off on a run?!
As well as the GNR on Sunday and the 5K tomorrow, there is also a junior and mini mile run, the City Games and not forgetting the famous pasta party! The atmosphere is going to be great!
I've loved seeing all the runners out recently training for the big on on Sunday. I can't believe how much my mindset has changed recently, every other year I've watched it on the tv thinking 'you crazy fools!' (Say it in a Mr T voice!) and now I think 'Wow, one day!' But for now, it's the 5K for me!
Sooo my timing chip is on my trainers, my number is on my shirt and my shins are taped to help my pesky shin splints!....I think I'm ready! Wish my luck guys!

All the best, you'll have an amazing time whatever the weather ... I get the impression that you'll not be the only C25Ker there! Wow... Mo AND the rest of the gang! ... Pea-green to be in the SE tonight. Have heaps of fun.
Good luck! The streets will be empty next week. I live on the south Tyne part of the GNR route and I've been tripping over runners training for weeks now ha ha. Many will be back on the treadmills next week! I'm really looking forward to it!
