Kallyfudging the Great Manchester Run 10k

Just had a shower, had a lovely day with the family and the run was brilliantly organised. The crowd really kept me going. I met up with the people from Mind before and after. I ended up going fast, the carbs I ate over the last few days must have worked and the amazing support and atmosphere from everyone there. At 5K I got a 5k Pb and instead of dying at that point managed to continue strong for another 5k. was hoping to go under 50 minutes but wasn't sure it would be possible, in the end I got 48:16. I decided to go with just the mind top even though I've got scars on my arms, felt great today and everyone in Manchester came together. I ended up getting lost after the race and still think my brain isn't working properly :) Wish I'd met up with @Poppypug but I'm terribly organised! Glad everyone there did so well :) You are the best!

Well done. Fantastic time Kallyfudge. I know what you mean about getting lost afterwards - all a bit of a daze. :)

Yeah I just thought it was the same as the start position, even though I knew it wasnt as I'd seen the map and knew. Then decided to ignore the fact that I wasnt in the right place/direction for a while :) You are right also, next time we ask poppy to pick ours up for us :)

Kally this is amazing !!!! Really Well done to you and I am so glad you had a good day !

I am sorry too for not meeting up with you, we will definitely organize something for next year or sooner if there is a local event on .

I know what you mean about getting a bit disorientated after the race . I finished and then completely lost my bearings and couldn't think straight of where I was going . I think maybe our brains need a little while to catch up with our bodies after all the adrenalin and endorphins buzzing around :-)

Lovely pic and Many Congratulations to you ! xxx

I know what you mean, I couldnt have done the half marra today, think I'd have injured myself, but in 11 months I could get to a marra hopefully. Would definitely be a good practice run for the 2018 GMR :p

It must be tiredness, and maybe hunger, possibly a bit of dehydration that makes you a bit disorientated

Well done Kally! It sounds like you really enjoyed it, and what a fab time! Great photo too. You look really happy 😃

I hope you have your feet up by now 🙂

Blimey, speedy legs Kally 🏃🏃🏃that's a brilliant time. Many congratulations to you.

I got a bit disorientated after my last race too and couldn't remember where I'd agreed to meet my hubby 😕 Felt a complete idiot.

Great photo there. So well done to you.

Thankyou very much Irishprincess :) I wonder if spending so much time not needing to think about where you are going has something to do with it. For me also probably just no glucose left for the brain :p
