Giving the countryside a run for its money...

Morning all; week one run two in the bag as they say! Now I'm not totally new to running; earlier this year I did manage to persuade my wobbly self to start running whilst at the gym. I say run. I mean jog/fast walk! πŸ˜‚ You see the great thing about a treadmill is if you don't run.. You fall off the back in a giant heap. Quite embarrassing. VERY motivational. I got ok at it, I could run the length of a song.. jump off and have a drink. And go again before the next song kicked in. Got about half an hour/2 ish miles.

Either way, life got crazy and I moved house. My new house; set atop a hill overlooking beautiful countryside... is absolutely no where near a gym. Now I am new student. A 26yo surrounded by 16/17 year olds. (A whole new story!) Who cannot afford to be driving miles to a gym. So; I ran on the road. My god how rubbish I was. So slow. Walked most. You see; my 'fall off the back in an embarrasing heap' motivation had gone. I was alone in this task.

So here steps in Couch to 5k! Little old Jo chirping in my ear about how great I'm doing... Oh yeahhhhh! I am on it. Week one.. run two and I'm still feeling motivated. (Although after yesterdays marathon 15 hours of working on my feet and running round like a tit, getting out of the door was hard!!!)

But I'm done and I'm here and I'm still alive and now I've got to find time to do it again.

Em.x

Hi well done you , Iv just completed day 1 and I am an absolute beginner , I probably looked more like a fast walk than a runner but I’m happy to try Day 2 on Tuesday as Jo has advised me to have a days rest in between runs πŸ˜„πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘

A fast walk is better than a slow walk! Well done you on completing day one! Make sure that motivation sees you through on Tuesday keep me posted! I'm doing Tuesday as Well!

You've started so you will finish. Take it slow and steady we don't want you falling over on the street a la treadmill style. Way too embarrassing for you.

Main thing is you found the time and motivation to get out, the first run is in my opinion the hardest.

Well done you and happy running next time out - will it be Tuesday?

Yes that is the plan I have a weight loss goal to hit by Xmas which will be exceeded by completing C25k - can't beat a good goal to aim for! I'm more likely to fall over my own feet πŸ˜‚ but I'm lucky enough to live in the countryside so bar the wildlife - I might just get away with it!! Yes i'l be out Tuesday! Although I've just agreed to go swimming at 7am - plus college, a run and slimming world. I'll sleep Well! Thank you for your support!
