Morning all; week one run two in the bag as they say! Now I'm not totally new to running; earlier this year I did manage to persuade my wobbly self to start running whilst at the gym. I say run. I mean jog/fast walk! π You see the great thing about a treadmill is if you don't run.. You fall off the back in a giant heap. Quite embarrassing. VERY motivational. I got ok at it, I could run the length of a song.. jump off and have a drink. And go again before the next song kicked in. Got about half an hour/2 ish miles.
Either way, life got crazy and I moved house. My new house; set atop a hill overlooking beautiful countryside... is absolutely no where near a gym. Now I am new student. A 26yo surrounded by 16/17 year olds. (A whole new story!) Who cannot afford to be driving miles to a gym. So; I ran on the road. My god how rubbish I was. So slow. Walked most. You see; my 'fall off the back in an embarrasing heap' motivation had gone. I was alone in this task.
So here steps in Couch to 5k! Little old Jo chirping in my ear about how great I'm doing... Oh yeahhhhh! I am on it. Week one.. run two and I'm still feeling motivated. (Although after yesterdays marathon 15 hours of working on my feet and running round like a tit, getting out of the door was hard!!!)
But I'm done and I'm here and I'm still alive and now I've got to find time to do it again.
