A weekend of lows and highs

Saturday morning I decided to try a morning run (although not being a morning person it was 11am before I got my ars£ out the door) to do w6r3. It was a catalogue of disasters. Firstly I had drunk a couple of glasses of wine the night before. And not a drop of water since. I realised halfway through the warm up that I hadn't had any water so would probably be quite dehydrated right then, let alone at the end. A certain length of time later, I accidentally discovered the track change button on my playlist which restarted the podcast. I had to run on, and use the clock on the app to keep my place. So no more encouragement from Laura. It was getting hot, so I ran down to the seashore to get a breeze, which was temporarily lovely. Then, just at the critical moment it dropped. A wave of nausea hit and I had to stop. I made 21 minutes, which was longer than I've ever done so I was pleased with that, but still miffed that I had failed to complete the programme.

So I got straight back on the horse and went out last night at my usual time to conquer the dreaded 25 minute run. 15 minutes in and I was feeling good. Then f&^%ing Nike+ started playing up and the voice decided that I needed updates every f"£$ing 6 seconds, so I had to listen to a constant stream of electronic voice. It was actually interrupting the end of an update to give me a new one. In the end it was updating every 2 seconds so sounded like the vocal track off a techno tune. I had to ditch the headphones as it wasn't condusive to keeping my pace. I was determined though, and fought through the exhaustion to make it to 25 minutes. I didn't bother picking the pace up for the last minute, it was all I could do to keep moving!!

Now to do it 3 more times....

I too have experienced the nightmare moment the podcast restarts - devastating!!! I remember staring at my iPod in disbelief and using language my mother definitely wouldn't approve of!!

This has happened so many times to me and I always manage to keep running, although I must look rediculous running along swearing at my phone!! I was sure it was a glitch in the app until I realised that you should probably lock the screen...
