When I run early I have a glass of water and a small banana. I don't eat anything else and am always fine, but I do make sure I have a good dinner the night before. If you do want to eat the recommendation is that you eat 2 hours before so you don't feel full when running. Try and run without breakfast and see how you feel.
I normally run on empty or occasionally have a small banana and always plenty of water. I run first thing and feel fine. I ran after an oats/yoghurt/berries breakfast before a Parkrun last week and totally blew it. Felt dreadful. The proper runners told I should have a pasta type meal the night before. Did that last time and was a lot better.
You just have to give the options a try and you'll soon find what suits you best!
I would suggest a good carbs meal the night before, then run on empty.
I always run first thing without eating, apparently it primes your metabolism to burn fat throughout the day, personally do it that way because otherwise I'd have to get up way too early.
Had a hard boiled egg and a cup of tea then ran half an hour later.
Think you're all right....no way could I have done it on a normal breakfast......good ideas about carbs the night before.....think i will try banana next time.
It's all common sense really.....I just panicked a bit.
Really loved running in the cool of the early ( for me! ) morning.
So people don't really have a regular set slot to run?
I run in the evening at the moment when I get in from work, it's just as cool then and my boyfriend can cook the tea while I'm gone!! But I also try and be fairly flexible about it, it's just the routine I've got into as I find it hard enough to get up and get to work for 8am!!!
I get up at 5.30 to do my run and just have a glass if water and use my puffer....I feel fine on it! I don't have time to eat because I have to get back, get in the shower so everyone else can get showered in time to get out the door on time!
