I’m new to this and am wondering whether I should eat something before a morning run. So far I’ve run in evening and have eaten afterwards. Sorry if it’s obvious but I could use some advice.

When (and what) to eat
I run at 6am if I can. I just hydrate. And have a banana afterwards. Don't know if it's the "right" thing to do but it works for me.
I can’t run well without eating anything. I get up have a banana, cup of tea, glass of water and go out about 30-40 minutes later.
I don’t think this suits everyone - my partner prefers to drink water then go out for a run and breakfast when he gets back - I just feel that my legs are really tired and heavy if I don’t eat first.
For any short runs, even up to 10k, l will have either a banana/boiled egg and a half glass of water. Your body should be fine if you ate well the day before and hydrated yourself properly with at least 2-3 litres of water. Then again, that’s what works for me but you don’t want a big breakfast followed by an immediate run. If that’s the case give yourself a few hours for the the food to settle in.
If your diet is good, don't change it.

It depends a lot on your own body. I am in the unfortunate position of not being able to eat anything for at least 3 hours before running, as it has embarassing consequences. This is despite the fact that otherwise I have an ironclad digestion.
I eat fairly early in the evening and I get really hot when I sleep so I always make sure I have a good drink of water and a milky tea before I go out. If I can leave at least an hour an egg or some peanut butter on a rice cake is good (and I do this in the evening too) . Then I have something when I get back. I keep thinking I should have a skinny latte to pep me up.
