Returning to running

Tomorrow I will be going for my first proper run in a very long time. Me & the IC have known each other intimately but it is time to get out there & try a run before I look like the Michelin man lol It will be a slow, steady run - not decided which week to start from but I will decide in the morning & will write up how it went.

Happy running everyone xx

Welcome back.

Better to be slow and steady than fast and injured.

Take care.

Welcome back! I have also been on the IC for a considerable time since graduating due to meniscal tear and other knee issues, and restarted from the beginning in October. After 3 false starts (!), I have finally progressed past week 3 - this morning I did week 5 run 1.....

..slow...steady...(and carefully avoiding re-injury!)....

My absence from running has been due to left SI joint - it has been whinging for a very long time & as the whinging seems to stable, I thought I would try a very slow, gentle run. Well done on restarting 😁

Best of luck tomorrow. Enjoy the run, listen to your body and take it nice and slow. Can't wait to read how it went.

Hope it went ok. I have a bit of arthritis now post injury and find that my joints need 2 days in between to recover. If I try and force it, it takes longer in the end.

I too have arthritis so have to work within my limitations. My run went well & I am looking forward to my next one 😁
