Well......it's been 24 hours since I had a cigarette...........not massively impressive as I've managed this numerous times before....but something does feel a little different. Looking forward to run 1 week 9 tonight. Shall be interesting to see if my breathing settles down faster then normal............wish me luck :-)

Well I'm massively impressed. I've never been a smoker but know many people who have been, so have some idea of just how difficult it is to give up. Even more impressive that you've done it before and it still hasn't put you off trying again. Good luck with getting through today and with your run tonight.

Very well done! My BF stopped smoking 4 years ago (after 12 years) and he experienced the first changes after 2 or 3 days. He could taste and smell better than before. He also says that even now, 4 years after quitting, he still thinks he might have a cigarette in certain situations. Just for you to be prepared that this feeling might not go away completely. Good luck for you and well done for taking this so important step for you and your health!

I quit about seven years ago (after having smoked since I was a young teen) and found quite quickly that I could exercise more easily. My advice would be to not keep track of the hours or days too much, then you'll lose track and one day realise it's been months! Enjoy the fresh air, you've made a great decision!!

Thanks chaps. Keeping busy today with my little one. I am using an inhalator and having a moment out the back with it as I would have a cigarette. One thing I've heard (and understand having given up for two years previously) is that I will always be a smoker. Just one who chooses not to smoke! Hopefully!
