W4 R1 - 24 hours later and I still can't stop smiling!

I finished W4 R1 yesterday evening - and I've not stopped smiling since. Just over a month ago I struggled with W1R1 and now, I can run. For five minutes. Twice. without stopping. The longer run means I can get in a rhythm, even if my speed is slow but it's so worth this feeling. Can't wait for tomorrow's run - as long as it stops raining!!!

Well done! I felt exactly the same after my wk 4 r1. I can't wait to get back at it but an ankle problem has me resting for at least a week now. Really frustrated! Hope you enjoy the rest of wk 4 - let me know how it goes. I'd be there with you if I could

Well done! I just did it tonight as well and feel exactly the same. For the first time I'm starting to believe that I could actually be a runner! Loving every minute! Keep up the good work! Won't be long til you're out running 5k x

I think I heard it said that running is 70% mental and in my more painful moments of the programme would tell myself that over and over as I ran. haha Not sure it is true but I'm using it to trick myself into not stopping! :)

:-) that's great! I just about got through w4r2 tonight, felt sick after the first one on Tuesday but not tonight. I've been grinning like a fool every time I get asked how the plans going. Wasn't even ashamed when a colleague said he's got a half marathon tomorrow and there was me "I can jog for five whole mins"

Well done, you are well on the way to becoming a runner. I felt the same way at week 4 which was an incredible feeling as I found it so difficult to run the full 60 seconds in week one!

Well done! I remember the first time I ran 5 minutes it was an unbelievable feeling (more afterwards than during!). Congrats!

That is great to hear, congrats! I finished W3R3 yesterday and am apprehensive about doing week 4 on Monday, to say the least. Seems like such a huge jump and I have almost talked myself into repeating week 3. But I did complete all 3 runs so it's time to move on and hopefully I will have the same feeling you did!

I've just completed w4r2 and it's the same feeling! Speed has dropped loads though compared to last week but I'm still moving! :)
