Week 5 Run 3

I have just returned from my Week 5 Run 3..... I really can't believe I just ran for 20 minutes without stopping!!! I The temperature was kept nice and cool with some light rain, which I was glad about, as on my cool down walk I shed a little tear as I was so proud of myself, but had a beaming smile on my face. From someone who has never run, and is overweight and has 'dicky knees' I am amazed at myself. I don't know if I can make it to graduation, but I will continue onwards and do my best. I know my speed is very slow, but it is the only way I can get through it and my way of thinking is speed will come later.

Hi katee1958 - it's a great feeling when it sinks in that you ran for 20 minutes non stop! WELL DONE YOU! You'll make it to graduation, it's in your sights now for you. Just keep coming back here for a top up of encouragement and inspiration!

Good luck for your next few runs. Not long now!

Well done Katee!!! You will make it to graduation and don't worry about going slow I think most of us do because that's what Laura asks us to do. In fact I went so slow at one point in my run that I panicked in case I came to a standstill. You keep smiling and running you're just behind me x

a huge well done katee - I know how you are feeling as I also did week 5 run 3 today! Have never run before and 5 weeks ago struggled to run for 1 minute - now I've done 20 minutes I CANNOT believe it. What an incredible feeling! I too shed a little tear of happiness in my cool down walk, thanks for sharing your feelings it prompted me to post for the first time. Good luck to you for continued success :) A big thank you also to everyone on here for offering advice and encouragement which has helped me overcome my own self doubt.
