Week 5 Run 1 - Miles from home

OK so it's fathers day - so i need to go and "do" this run before (hopefully) i get spoilt rotten and don't like the thought of "doing" the run after Sunday Lunch and a couple of beers.

Absolutely wonderful morning here in middle England (Redditch can be desribed as middle Earth sometimes), took a while to get the lycra and mojo ready for the run, but boy!! am i pleased i did.

As with any new week didn't know what to expect, didn't have a route planned, just switched it on and off i went. Dear i say "no problems - this is quite easy", however i completely switched off, started day dreaming and the next thing I know run 3 is completed and I'm on the final 5 minute warm down - but I'm about 2 miles from home !!! Do I care ....... not a bit. It's a beautiful morning, I'm feeling rather pleased with myself and so what if I've got a 20 minute wam down walk.

To all the dads out there - we are very special and make a difference.

To my dad - I miss you everyday, sleep well.

If you feel pleased today, wait til you complete week 5 run 3, the feeling of completing 20 mins is awesome! Your "technique" of switching off will come in handy in the next few weeks as the longer runs are a mental challenge and switching off to avoid thinking about the effort is key.

Well done and keep up the good work as the rewards just get better and better!
