Your Top music running tracks please!

Hi all! I want to put myself together a playlist to run to. Wondered what your best running tracks are? So far, I know I will have Phillip Sousa's liberty bell march as my warm up, but in terms of the actual run wondered what tracks other people find motivational - with a good beat of course!

I love all the songs I've got on my running playlist, but the one that always makes me go 'YES!' is Billie Jean by Michael Jackson :-) as soon as I hear that beat start, it peps me up no end!

Oh yes great idea! You can imagine the pavement lighting up as you run!

Pump up the Jam by Technotronic, the beat makes your run faster

So does Somebody's watching me by Rockwell.

Stamp on the ground by Italo brothers.

All downloaded off i tunes.

depends what you like, this is all dance music and I find the beat helps me focus.

I've been thinking this too. Searches online bring up music that's far too trendy for my liking. I'm a child of the 80's and have never liked music that's really popular!

How about some Scissor Sisters, I've a few of theirs on my playlist. I don't like the modern stuff but enjoy, Abba, SS, Alexander Burke I just went through my library and picked out some of my favourite fast up beat songs. I made my playlist about 2 hours long that way I can shuffle it which means I don't get fed up listening to the same order of songs every run.

Mmmmmm may try some scissor sisters! It's the shuffling I am trying to get away from as I find I lose my rhythm and concentration! It doesn't take much! Lol :)

As I get tired towards the end of my run it just has to be:

KEEP ON RUNNING - Spencer Davis Group &

COME ON EILEEN - Dexy's Midnight Runners

and for the younger one's amongst you:

HIPS DON'T LIE - Shakira

Jenifer Lopez - on the floor. Also, I recently signed up at Rock my run (rockmyrun.com) It is free to register and you can download 1 free running track (45min long) of your choice every month. There are lots of mixes and genres to choose from.

Awesome website:)

Happy running!

Thanks for the tip off about rock my run. I will have a look!

I'm determined to stick with Laura until I graduate in a few weeks... but then there will be the mother of all running playlists created including....

The warm up off 5k+ Speed - a really boppy & feel good tune... or Kings of Leon Revelry

then running along to

Rihanna - Pon De Replay

The Chemical Brothers - Galvanize .... (or their opening version from London 2012 Opening Cermony - infact that whole opening session)

FatBoySlim - Gangster Tripping

Rihanna - S&M

Rizzle Kicks - Mama do the hump

Adele - Rumor Has it

Blondie - One Way or Another

Madness - Taller than you are..... (infact anything Sca - don't get me going here)

Girls Aloud - Love Machine

Emerson Lake & Palmer - Hoedown

Tina Turner - NutbushCity Limits

Cool down to John Lennon - Instant Karma & Black Eyed Peas - I gotta feeling.

oh and I must get back into Prince oh & most of Brian Ferry too, oh and RunDMC ....... aaaagggghhhhh - too much music for 30mins - I might need a half marathon to listen to all this lot!

Have fun & Happy Running

jog.fm

Just type in your time per km, (or your target time per km) and it shows you a list of appropriate tracks based on their beats per minute. Best site I have ever used. Really helped me pick up my pace and shave some seconds off each km.

The Man With the Golden Gun soundtrack is brilliant, as are most of the Bond themes. I also like the songs from Wicked for running to.

Funnily enough had considered running to the soundtrack of legally blonde as it makes me laugh so much! :)
