Hey, just wondering what people's faviourite songs are to run to? I recently ran to the glee version of poker face (not the coolest I know) and was such a winner, as is Labrynth- Earthquake. My pace speeds up, I relax a bit more and get that 'yeah!!' feeling.
What are your favourite running tracks?? - Couch to 5K
What are your favourite running tracks??
I have a huge list of stuff I play when I'm running. I bought a work out track cd a while back and there is quite a bit of good stuff on there, but I also have a big mix of metal/rock/folk too. It depends on what type of running I'm doing, recovery, tempo or speed. For recovery runs I slow it down a bit!
Awesome another rocker out there, what's your favourite? I find Iron Maiden absolutely perfect to run to just the best rhythm and speed and it always makes me smile when by coincidence "Running Free" comes on near the end of my run, my pace increases somewhat; my grin is ear-to-ear.
I love audiobooks now. I find myself actually running or longer so I can get another chapter :-). I suppose I should listen to something educational but I tend to pick rubbishy fiction. Comedy can be too much if it makes you laugh while running.
When I am feeling really low on motivation I go track to to the c25k tracks - for some reason the familiar music remind me of the transformation and motivates me. Some people have said they use run 1 as a sort of interval session, running faster on the run sessions and jogging slower during the walk sessions.
There's a feature on the iPod called Genius - that's quite good I find, e.g. I select something from the 80s and while that is playing and then press the genius icon and it will create a playlist of 25 tracks or so of 80s type music. Then off I jog :-).
Sometimes I find that i have no recollection of what I was listening too - my mind has wondered over many subjects.
I loved running to Harry Potter- it's my fave but since finishing it have gone back to music- do you have any favourite books to listen to? I use to find that if there was a chase/really exciting bit then I would speed up
I find that it has to be something light as I can't concentrate and run. I try to get the lengthy books as they are better value. Comes to something when you buy your books by the weight :-).
I've listened to some John Grisham and the "girl with dragon tattop" trilogy. i've got stephen king now - purchased on duration again but it hasn't been so bad so far. Like you I find the chase passages quite encouraging
upbeat 80s all the way. makes my mind wander into the music & memories of being in my teens. but saying that, downloaded the biggest loser workout mix 2012 & I quite like that aswell. prefer to have one long mix as opposed to separate songs as then I think "another 3 minutes til the end of this one". did the b210k & the download from that had fantastic "epic" music that makes you feel as if you are on the last run of a marathon...
I have to say though I don't run to any soundtrack any more. Just me and the traffic hooting as I cross the road inappropriately
