Since Sunday's nemesis run, my legs are really really heavy. And aching. It's like, well, they're made of cement!!
Was supposed to go out for 2nd run of the week last night but am afraid i went to the flicks with a mate and ate a foot long hot dog........
So, it's the run tonight. But I really don't know if I have the physical might to do it
Still, it's early in the day. Only just having me first brew of the day and I'm sure by 5pm I'll be wanting to get out there to stomp away the day's frustrations.

You can do it! Remember, even if they still feel tired and heavy, even if you're tired and not in the mood, you'll feel better for getting out there and doing your best! I know it's hard when any movement is an effort, but don't give in! If it helps, give yourself permission to do half the allotted run time - if you're still struggling at that point, call it quits and go home, but if by then you're feeling OK, carry on. I've spent entire runs before now working out just how soon I can give up and go home, and just moving the target another couple of minutes away... And sometimes I've got to my initial target time and said 'enough'. It's all good - and to quote St Laura, even a bad run is better than no run at all...
I needed some moral support and what you say makes sense. I did it on Sunday after all and a bad run is indeed better than sitting on the couch. But...... all I can think of is how much of a real mental and physical effort I had to make and i dont know whether i can do it again.
Arrrgggghhhhh! enough negative thoughts!! I shall put all what you say in my back pocket and bring it out with me when I go out later.
I agree completely with rainbow! Also try not to over-think it, make a plan as rainbow illustrates and then it should be settled, you will either carry on past your 'I can finish now if i need to' point or you will not. Either way you have succeeded. I remember feeling the same a few times for various reasons especially when the body feels tired and heavy. Once I felt so low that I genuinely told myself if I got out into the street and did the warm up walk then I had succeeded because I felt so rubbish, I had a great run lol. The point being, make it all ok then stop worrying and spend the afternoon enjoying the fact that you can't go wrong lol.
What very sound advice! Hope whatever you manage to do will make you feel proud of yourself. Going out when your mind and body are screaming 'No!' is very hard indeed, but as Jems says, sometimes you get a nice surprise.
Ali, you'll do great with all of the suggestions given. Try to be intentional today with your food and drink. Staying properly hydrated may help with the tiredness and heavy leg feeling. I notice the cement legs more around my TOM, who knows?? Good luck to you!! Gayle
Ooh, hope it went well? Getting out there would be a success. I laid out my gear on the bed and then put it away twice last week, so anything more than tht would be a brilliant improvement, in my mind!
