I think I hoped to finish week 1 and think 'Ha, ha, I have finished and clearly kicked week 1 up the bum'. The positives are I finished 3 runs this week and did all 8 runs in each run. I got up at 6am each time, finished each run when I wanted to give up and I am chuffed about that. But it wasnt easy and I'm not sure if I am ready for Week 2. Run 1 was ok on Friday, hard, but ok and I managed it and felt great but run 2 was awful. Run 3 this morning was somewhere in between. My legs just felt tired and I was looking forward to Laura telling me I could stop. The recovery was ok in between each one but I can't shake the tired lead legs. I'm not sure if I should do another run on week 1 or move onto week 2??? Running for 90 seconds seems like a huuuuuuuuuuuge amount when I am at 60 seconds and hoping for Laura to say stop. Whatever I do, I'm doing nothing until Friday now and having 2 rest days. Tired legs might be because I need more rest. Felt great I have done all 3 runs but slightly petrified of moving on and not sure what to do. Don't think I was ready for how emotional this would be. In the space of a week I've experienced being nervous, scared, tired, achey, jubilant, determined, nervous again, deflated, scared, confused......and I'm only at week 1. Imagine what I'll be like on week 9!!!!

Well done for getting through week1 You did it and like you said you did all the runs. thats huge! I struggled with week1, I too was begging Laura to tell me to stop, in fact runs 6,7 and 8 just about did me in on all three days. However I did go on to week2 and yes it is hard, but you have to dig deep and go as slow as you need too to finish. Rest up take two rest days between each run if you have too. Do your stretches before and after, and try having a banana and a glass of water 45 minutes before you go running. It worked for me.
Best of luck with week two.
Well done for finishing week 1 I guess only you know if you're ready to move onto week 2 personally I would have a few days rest and do week 1 a couple more times until you feel ready to move on - the last thing you want is to try week 2 and feel defeated if you cant do 90 seconds. That said if your determined then maybe you should give it a go - you might surprise yourself!
I agree with fitbefore40. See how you feel friday - and give it a go. Get your determined head on and run at a slow pace. This is tough - and your body does get a bit rattled in the process - but I am a few weeks on - enjoying it but not necessarily finding it easy -most of the battle is in my head.
Really best of luck.x
...to be honest - I am not sure it gets any easier - you just do more. I guess if you feel happier doing a repeat - and plenty of people do - then stick to what you feel comfortable with.
I would also take the time to be kind to yourself and appreciate what you are doing - you are probably doing more now- than you were before and that has got to be good for you. And if it was easy everyone would be doing it. Congratulations for getting out there
Best of luck.xx
I would go with banana and water beforehand. There are some stretches for after running on this website and after not doing them on my first run, I certainly noticed the difference so I do them every time.
