Managed to start W5 today. I was a bit apprehensive at the start as in the podcast Laura says that this could be more of a mental challenge that physical. Once again it turned out that she was right.

Physically it was just enough of a challenge, having already done 5min runs last week you know it is possible. The challenge is to do three.

My mental challenge came with the last 5min run. As I was getting back home before the podcast came to an end last week I decided to extend my route by adding in an extra short loop. This took the distance from 2.63 miles to 3.26 miles. As the extra 0.6 mile was an unknown quantity with regards to times and distance the last 5min was hard as I had no reference points as to where I ought to be along the route. But shear determination got me to the end.

I think I owe apologies to those who have responded to my posts as I haven't "replied" to their comments just included a general acknowledgement in my posts. Sorry about that. I am new to this blogging thing and only started to keep a record for myself and not really expecting any reaction from others. I will try to do better from now on.

See you all again when I have done R2

Well done for being so determined - that last 5 mins is hard anyway! You'll be fine - trust the programme and take it slow and steady. Speed can come later.

You made me smile, saying you didn't really expect any reaction to your blogs from others. Not on this forum! This is the most supportive community I've come across :)

All the best with Week 5 - blog and let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the encouragement.

The support here is brilliant. I don't think I would have got this far without everybody's help.

I am so looking forwards to seeing "Graduate" beside my name. Not .long now
