Nearly there - WK9R1 completed!

I haven't run since I was at school over 40 years ago so this has been a real stretch (literally) - 8 weeks ago I couldn't even run for 60 seconds. How things have changed! I had one repeat in WK1 but since then I've been able to complete each week succesfully, thanks to Laura! I had a great run today despite the cold & windy weather. Felt so good that I ran for 33 minutes and completed a full 5K, and I'm now looking forward to completing the programme on Monday next week. Next stop 10K in about 12 weeks time when hopefully I'll be ready for the British 10K London Run! Feel great to have got this far and looking forward to the next target already - wish me luck!

Thanks Gregg. It hasn't been easy but I reckon that most of it is "all in the mind". Not there yet but not far off - let's hope the mind holds out!

Congratulations. It's a great feeling, isn't it - resurrecting something that you thought was dead and buried! :) Like you I hadn't really run since school (even longer than you!) and never thought I'd start again. But now I can't wait - and it helps on so many other levels too.

Good luck for the 10k. :)

Thanks. It's made a real difference to me too. I never thought that I'd actually look forward to going on a run - I always used to feign injury when cross country runs were on the programme during school games sessions!
