I'm so looking forward to getting out there and attempting a run after finishing my second set of steroid tablets for asthma! WK 9 R1 is supposedly my next but I reckon I'm just going to see how I go.

Let us know how you get on. Slow and steady. Try to relax your breathing as I know from experience tension makes asthma worse. Your body will find a natural rhythm. Cold and windy today so not ideal for us wheezy ones but let’s get out there and give it a go! I always take my reliever inhaler before I go. Just do a shorter run to build up your confidence 🙂🏃♀️

I agree with Lousylungs... I take my reliever inhaler before I start but have it in my pocket just in case. Week 1, I don't want to think how many times I had to reach for it but as the weeks go on, I find my chest is coping better and better and now I only take it once before I start and maybe once after the first run. Pace yourself but if you're on week 9, then hat off to you..
Thank you. My asthma is usually not a problem it’s well controlled. But it’s particularly bad where I live atm. I’m thinking I might even go on the treadmill if tomorrow doesn’t work out. I have been taking my inhaler beforehand too. I’ve also after two lots of steroid tablets, now got different inhalers. So fingers crossed 😄
I have just come back from my w9r1 run in cold, wind and mud. Running on a treadmill might be a good idea as conditions outside were not easy. Lots of slippy mud but luckily the worst wind was on the downhill section and the rain and hail held off until I was back indoors. Good luck.
