Update on me.
So it's been a while since I posted here. Still waiting to see a pulmonologist. That will be happening in June provided there's no cancellations or delays because of industrial action. Had spirometry done both FEV1 and FVC were 91. Not indicative of airway obstruction. Relieving and frustrating at

Spirometry non-obstructive, CT shows scarring but no fibrosis/legions/bronchiectasis so what’s wrong???
Hi guys, Still looking for advice! Last September I had pneumonia. It was severe, and I was hospitalised for a week. It took five months and six courses of antibiotics to shift it. X rays showed ‘chronic atelectasis’ in right base. I’ve been sent for CT and spirometry, and gone through the results

Digital peakflow recommendations?
Hi all, I hope you've all been keeping as well as possible particularly with the change in weather. So I've been looking at buying a new pf and have discovered I'm living in the dark ages with my pf from gp for decades. Omg there are digital ones that document readings automatically and your spirometry

PFT stats question
According to my PFT
test
, my
FEV1
/
FVC
is decreased at 64%. My Dr. said this is mild COPD but from what I have read it indicates moderate COPD. Does anyone know if the criteria will change due to our age and that is why it might be considered mild?

Broncholidator Reversibility Test
Hi, I posted a few days ago about my team wanting to do a broncholidator reversibility test and FeNO before they put me forward for biologics. I wasn't going to do the test, then decided to do it, incase it did show reversibility to save time waiting for a referral to Wynthenshawe as my current hospital

spiriva
hi, have others found that Spiriva has helped to stop exacerbations from colds? I've had three colds since September: the first put me in hospital for 12 days. The second two have led to oral steroids at home (with quick improvement). This has been a nasty introduction to lung problems. I don't get

working out fev1 as a percentage
Hi I've bought an asthma-1 Vitalograph FEV1 to monitor my asthma between appointments as I don't think peak flow really shows my asthma up very well. When I blow into it it just shows a number eg 3.87 , not a percentage as it doesn't measure FVC and there's no instructions in with it other than a diagram

COPD advice
I have recently had my copd review with the nurse and a first Spiromatary test in 4 years. Four years ago my reading was FEV1 76% and now its FEV1 47% so I was shocked. I have had a recent virus infection doing the rounds but this does seem to be very different readings. I have asked to be re-tested

Moderate COPD longevity.
Hello, new member here. I have a particular question about COPD. I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with mild COPD. A few months later it had progressed to moderate, but only just. That's when i got serious about it and started to change my lifestyle. I'm happy to say that for the past 12 months or

emphysema results
hi everyone I have emphysema . Just had a spirometry test and my results are Fev1 =50%/1.16 Fev1/Fev6 =0.67/87% fev6 =62% how bad is this? Does it mean I only have half lung capacity? How is everyone managing at this level?

Peakflow v fev1
I have always been puzzled Re peakflow v fev. My best peakflow reading is 660, but at present I am in the low 400s with lots of ventolin to keep it out of the 300s, where I tend to lose control. I am rather out of breath. However my fev1 reading is in the high 300s which is perfectly OK given my age

New here, 35yo Male, diagnosed with Adult onset Asthma, but concerned it could be something more serious.
Roughly two years ago I noticed bouts of severe shortness of breath, frequently coming while at rest and after eating, lasting for hours. The house I was living in at the time had a bad damp and mold problem, which I suspect was the cause of whatever now plagues me, as I'd never suffered from shortness
