No,,,I was diagnosed with COPD approximately 5 months ago after having a difficult time breathing wheezing mucus, my doc send me for a series of tests and told me I had COPD but after that episode nothing , I recently on the crazy diet and that crash my kidneys, that's when I started stressing out and all these symptoms popped up breathing symptoms that's why I was wondering if it's COPD or just anxiety attack complications of breathing, I don't know.

My anxiety was caused by my COPD I just couldn't breathe on numerous occasions and had to go to hospital they said it was anxiety but I could not breathe in fact the EMTs came one time and thought I was dead. I think it was more serious because they always admitted me to hospital. I am okay now but really don't know what was going on. I do take anxiety meds now and it helps. When I can't breathe I completely freak out

Thanks for ur reply,,I think I going have a very rough time, with this realization of this disease COPD, I also am having anxiety attacks freaking out as you do but I'm trying to cope realizing anxiety only makes it worse, haven't really had any terrible breathing problems but started having shortness of breath intermediately approximately 3 weeks ago dizziness upon exertion on occasion which really scares me ,,,now i have sob every single day,, but did go to the ER and they found something else wrong with me, which I thought was causing my sob,,,The condition I had has been resolved, recently but I'm still having did an online search came to a realization that this is COPD, was told I had it by my PCP approximately a year ago, but I did not research it and did not know that this disease is debilitating, just found out 2 days ago, shocked and stressed out, but doing better and weighing my options, going in to see my doctor Thursday, to get a pulmonary doctor and also to run some more tests hopefully to see which stage I'm at and get all the information I can to survive as long as I can and to manage the symptoms and get into a pulmonary rehab program to prepare for the future

Sounds like anxiety, which is normal when you have trouble breathing.

Thanks for the reply, I hope you're right, but I've had anxiety before never had breathing problems persistently coming and going, just wondering if it's COPD, which I was diagnosed with 5 months ago, we will find out soon, the problem ,Medical blood test which I was having anxiety with has resolved favorably, for the immediate future

Anxiety...I'm in the same boat. I'm so sorry for anyone who is having to deal with being short of breath... :( I guess things will get better for us, as we accept things. At least I hope so.

Thanks for reply, I hope you're right regarding anxiety, my issues have been resolved so if it's anxiety, hopefully my breathing will return to normal if not, it's a flare-up of my COPD and I have to change my meds.
