hello everyone😊
I wrote on here about 2 weeks ago for some advice in regards to a colonoscopy, I wanted to update you on my progress so that anyone who may be feeling afraid or anxious about this process can hopefully take something from this
Today I had my colonoscopy, terrified and lost count of how many times I’d cried thinking they were going to tell me it’s cancer (I have posted previously my symptoms and test results), the actual procedure itself was completely fine, I had sedation but wasn’t asleep so I was able to communicate with the team and they were able to show me that actually my colon is very healthy, no lumps or bumps in site🫶🏻 the surgeon actually told me that Qfit tests come back positive when a stool sample that has visible bleeding has been used, which in my case makes alot of sense because my inflammation level was <30, the cause of the bleeding was a haemorrhoid who decided it wanted to pop😂 and this happens usually every 3/5 years, which again makes sense because it was 2018 I was in for a sigmoidoscopy for the same symptom.
The best piece of advice I can give someone who’s reading this to try and find comfort or a possibility of something else other than cancer is that the human body is wild, I was genuinely convinced I had cancer and that was it for me, nothing else added up or made sense, how could I have an IBD if my inflammation is low? Must be something bad. My bleeding wasn’t continuous like most peoples are? Must be something bad. It turned out for me to be nothing, and I only had it done today but I’m still trying to process that fact, so if you’re reading this and looking for answers or someone to relate too, please don’t google, stay on this page and people will tell you their stories or give you the support you need just like I received, again the human body is wild and even if you maybe thinking it’s bad, it could be something entirely different and simple!💕
