crohns scare

I had a colonoscopy 6 months ago . All was clear , no cancer no ibd. Since I’ve had in and off abdominal pain and inflammation . I just been diagnosed with a parasite of the intestine as well. I have. Signoidoscopy tomorrow, could I still have Crohn’s despite nothing was found 6 months ago? Or could the parasite cause bad inflammation?

Completed my sigmoidoscopy and the gi doctor said my tissue looked very good but I have minor congestion and a few Aphthaes ( ulcers) so she sent in biopsies. Does this mean no ibd was seen so we have to rely on biopsies or could the ulcer be caused by something else?

Some parasites can cause inflammation such as whipworms.

In some respect your sigmoid results seem pretty good. I have just been diagnosed with Crohns and now waiting for a colonoscopy. 😱

All we can do is await the results. 😘

Hi,

It showed a long part of my colon was inflamed right up to the illium which the consultant assumed was Chrohn's. The endoscopy showed a slidding hiatus hernia of which I were aware of and errosive gastritis. My contrast MRI showed something they were unable to identify and to this day ( months later ) I am still waiting for a Capsule Swallow to diagnose.

my biopsies were all good . They told me it was probably IBS -C . I tested positive during that time with a parasite that is common and never treated for it. Retested for parasites last January and it was clear .
