Bowel cleanse - parasite?

Hi! So I have a colonoscopy tomorrow. I’ve had blood in my stools since March. Initially thought it was piles but after Anusol and then steroid suppositories it didn’t stop. I also have other symptoms. Pain in lower left abdomen. Well more of an ache than a pain. I’m fit. I still run and even if I get a nasty diagnosis I’m going to continue with my exercise for as long as possible. Anyway, so I’ve started the bowel cleanse tonight in preparation for colonoscopy tomorrow and I noticed this. Is this just normal or do you think it’s a parasite? I haven’t seen/noticed this in my poop before.

Was it moving ? Impossible to definitely tell what it is but does resemble a worm of some sort, hate to say but my dogs have had tapeworm that looks like that.

I didn’t see it moving. I don’t think so anyway.

I feel like it definitely could be. I didn’t even think to look in the toilet during my prep but I’m sure I had some as well. Everyone has parasites, literally everyone. Always good to do a good parasite cleanse at least once a year

Well glad it’s out if that’s what it is. One things for sure, anything that was in there is well and truly out after that cleanse. The second drink, wow! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to the toilet this morning.

Yes, it's definitely a cleanse. I always move the schedule up for the cleanse about an hour to an hour and a half just so I'll be through the wave of having to find a toilet and that enables me to get a better night's sleep. I do the same thing the day of the procedure just so that wave is over with before I have to go to the facility for the procedure. The first couple of times I tried to keep to their schedule and it was tough to make the 7 mile trip without thinking about finding a toilet.

I’d previously read your comments about bringing the timings forward so made sure I did that!
