Did you have any polyps or biopsys? I had 5 polyps and half a 25mm sessile one taken out had to abort as in so much pain even with sedation and gas and air it was barbaric. Also took 10 biopsys

I had two colonoscopy last year...They found polyps each time.. Total 4 polyps were found. The biopsy took two weeks.. One of the large polyps were 10mm and it was advanced

What treatment did you have x

Nothing.. The polyp was removed and no further treatment because it's still considered pre-cancerous... but very thankful I managed to do the colonoscopy early enough

Hi Joyce, I have an eight and a 15 mm sessile polyp removed for biopsy, two small ones as well. My Dr. said that she’s not worried, but I think that she observed my anxiety. I’m waiting for the biopsy results as well. I had a colonoscopy three years ago, and pre-cancerous polyps were removed. I read that sessile polyps bigger than 1 cm is not good. Do you have knowledge of this type of polyp that could calm my nerves?

Hi Jenny. I know 1cm is not the best case but we are lucky enough to have it removed before it turns into cancer. I was anxious as well being told it was pre-cancerous, but I am having scheduled colonoscopy every three years now to monitor before it becomes too late

Mine is called traditional Serrated adenomas polyp, mine is 1.5cm precancerous as well. I’m pretty worried so I arranged next year scope again

I had a colonoscopy about 2 months ago and had 7 polyps. Most were 6 mm but one was 10 and one was 12. When I asked the doctor why they would be so large since I had 8 removed two years ago he just said no big deal. Needless to say looking for new doctor. They removed them all.

Hi Carsok. Just curious how often you will be having colonoscopy now. Are you changing your diet to prevent more polyps to grow

Joyce, I'm thinking probably every two years but going back to my old GI who is an hour away and will talk to him. He's much more approachable. I'll talk to him and see what he thinks. My mother died from colon cancer at 78 and it was 2 months from diagnosis until she died. So I definitely keep an eye on it. I eat a fairly good diet as my husband is diabetic so we eat lots of fresh vegetables and more chicken, fish and not a lot of sweets. I make my own bread since it's easy and better than store bought. I also am prone to stomach ulcers so I don't take anything by mouth that could irritate my stomach. I do use medical marijuana for lower back pain and joint pain and had a thoracotomy for a Bochdalek hernia that failed and the marijuana helps with all my pain.. This getting old is hard....I'm 74.

Hi Carsok. I am 36, had 3 colonoscopy last two years as my specialist was concerned about the advance polyp. He recommends every three years we will have a colonoscopy, but I will try to get one done every two years instead. I have lower back pain and pain on the waist from sitting too long at work, it makes me worried sometimes and 2nd guessing if there's other health issue undiagnosed.

Joyce...back pain is so bad. I've got severe canal stenosis in my lower spine...basically just a bad back and have psoriatic arthritis and I give myself methotrexate shot once a week. That really helps with the joints. Maybe talk to someone and see if you can get an CT Scan to see if anything else shows up. If it's just back pain at least you'll know. As I said my mom died from colon cancer and her sister and brother from pancreatic cancer and another sister from rectal cancer so I take all this quite seriously. Even though I'm 74 I still like to try and keep active. I really want to do some hiking but need a guide for what I want to do and my husband said to send him postcards....lol.
