Rectal Polyp cancer

Hi i have rectal polyp which is big and its said by biopsy adenocarcinoma.

After all the test doctor said fee lymphoma infected first i needs to go for chemo and radio therapy. For 6 weeks ..then needs to go for surgery.. hopefully all will go fine and will be cured!!

Radio five days a week will make you very tired and not hungry so keep healthy! I had same but now have colostomy! Be positive!

Thank you Jrrp, Yah im positive but you will be having for the rest of life the colostomy or only short time of period?

Yes. Rectal cancers are very aggressive. Hope yours is not one of those. Hope the surgeon is up front with you!

Mine is fine as per doctor they needs to perform the chemo and radio then surgery.. but curable

Good luck with your treatment and hopefully you will get cured, iv had ct scan, and biopsys taken from stomach awaiting a colonoscopy to determin my next step all tests and waiting not a pleasant time for any of us, good luck

I too had this 4.5 years ago, difficult at times but all went well & now have a colostomy.

How do u feels with colostomy and ... where was the polyp exactly located in rectum .. may god bless u and live a long life

Colostomy is not always easy at first, but becomes a normal part of life & a routine that you don't think too much about. Tumour was stage 3, just inside rectum,

Gerriscot, thank you for your response.. im stnot ll on going with chemo and radiotherapy... lot of weakness cant get up from bed feels very low and i feels that no more blood left in body..

Sorry I haven't answered earlier,& sorry for your suffering! Try to keep up your strength, eat a bit, lots of fluids. Hopefully you have someone to help you get out of bed each day. Don't give up!!!!! It will get better.

Thank you and the surgery done to now ... i have temporary eliestomy ... in a month time back to normal. Thank you dear

It depends on so many things, I also had to have a hysterectomy which I wasn't expecting& after a month back on chemo tablets. So I was longer than most people recovering. I also was 74 years at the time. So it took me a good year. Never completely went back to my old self unfortunately, I am however thankful for every day😘

How long does the chemo therapy goes on doctor doing it for me 6 months as it involves some lymph nodes.. ?

I had it by tablet, 3 months before operation & 3 months after. Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery

Thank you dear ... im still waiting for reversal of my ilistomy however ... after the surgery doctor advised 12 cycle of chemo means i finished 3 cycles and 9 more to go but feel very tired and sick ... headache throat pain.. smll mouth sores and legs hurting ... pls suggest is it possible to skip chemo?
