Second Rituximab infusion.

Had my 2nd infusion today. Initial blood test showed low Haemoglobin. It took three attempts to insert the cannula so a bit sore. Antihistamine and steroids made me a little drowsy but infusion went smoothly with no dramas. The suite was full and looking around I felt fortunate seeing how poorly a lot of the patients looked. Had a couple of hours sleep when I got home. Third infusion next week. Feeling fatigued but reasonably OK. Love and strength to all.

Jack I had 8 weeks of Rituxan and 4 months of steroids (Prednisone) when I was being treated for AIHA last winter/spring. My Hemoglobin was 8.3 when I started. If it had been much lower they would have given me transfusions. I started at 80 mg Prednisone a day and it took 4 months to taper off. Now I'm getting Rituxan once every 2 months as maintenance. Your symptoms sound similar to mine. Good luck.

Hi John. There was talk about a transfusion prior to the infusion but it was decided against. Best wishes.

Hi Jack:

Are you still taking Ibrutinib? What is your treatment plan if you don’t mind me asking. I hope you feel better.

Hi Mark. I am feeling a little groggy but ok.Yes I am still taking IB. I will be seeing my haematologist soon to discuss the way forward. Prior to this treatment he was looking at me having a break from Ibrutinib so I will see what comes to be. Best wishes.

It’s not fun to go through some of the treatments. Your attitude of just keeping going is admirable. I hope your bone marrow starts to recover with these treatments.
