Covid antibodies lost in short time periode

Wanted to share my experience with vaccination :

After two times Biontech I had 1036 AU/ml (< 50 negativ) in mid of May. On Thursday this week I had my 6 months check and asked to add Covid antibodies just to know when to get a 3rd booster vaccination. The new value is 22 only. So I have lost nearly all antibodies in less than 4 months.

I got 3rd vaccination yesterday and will ask for monthly checks of antibodies in order to get a general feeling how offen I need booster vaccinations.

I should add that I need IvIg monthly.

I have to admit that this rapid loss of antibodies is not only surprising my docs but it is also quite disappointing and scary for me.

To end my post with something positive...

I am still mrd- after V+ O (5/2015 - 9/2018).

Thanks for sharing, this is really scary...I had my second jab in May and by the sound of it, I shouldn't hesitate to have the booster as soon as I can.

Glad to hear about your mrd-, that's fantastic!

For some reason I can't write a post or search past posts. I just got my Labcorp results from my 3rd Moderna. First test in April was positive but only 6.87 and the second in June was 3.8. Today I received my results of 1130. So much better; since I can't search the former posts, how does that fare? what are the scores of healthy people? anything.

Congratulations!! On you taking any Cll treatments?

yes but with my Oncologist permission I went off two weeks before and 3 weeks after; he says mine so indolent that he hasn't been worried but I certainly wouldn't do without his permission and monitoring; my blood work this week was the same as before

Thanks and good luck. Maybe the lower dose Ibr helped your system develop antibodies.

Reinhard -

Was you most recent test the identical same test panel as before?

Do you get non-COVID total IgG, IgM, and IgA tests also?

Test was the same as in May.Last blood test in March this year IgG, IgM and IgA were tested (all too low) - but not this time.

Remember antibodies are one of the defense mechanisms the body has to protect against infections. The immune system has other means of protection after vaccination that we can’t quantify right now. I think getting a booster is a wise idea for people with CLL. I probably get my 3rd shot soon, but I want to discuss it with my doctor first when I see him in November.

No-one should be surprised to see their vaccine-acquired immunity decline over several months. Especially more elderly CLL patients and/or with more advanced disease.

These are my own inferences from a recent Estonian study in volunteers who had received the Pfizer BNT vaccine. Their IgG levels starting to wane after 6 weeks, to a median of only 7 percent of peak values after 6 months. Antibody levels correlated negatively with age and positively with vaccination side effects.

87 percent of volunteers developed spike-specific memory T cells. However, their levels were negatively correlated with senescence of CD8+ cells, a feature of advanced CLL.
