I have tried my GP and my specialist nurse to ask about the 3rd vaccine that has been approved by the JCVI but neither had any information to give me. Has anyone in the UK had their 3rd vaccine and if so how did they get it? Any suggestions or is it too early and I just have to wait for the NHS to send a letter? I also asked about Monoclonal Antibodies the CLL nurse had heard of them but she said it was up to whoever was treating me if I was in hospital with covid. I pointed out that if I was in hospital it was probably too late to receive the antibodies, she didn't really have a response. I'm on W&W for the past 6 years.

It seems there's no official go on the third dose, or boosters generally for whomever they deem in need.
I am intrigued on the antibody issue, as you say getting it if you present at hospital is too late, you or I would be wanting it as soon as we test positive. It's unsettling that noone seems to know if this is available yet.
There's no doubt that covid is going to run its course now, cases are permitted without any recourse to mitigations. It seems unless people are strictly shielding we will be very lucky not to encounter it.
well I'm not sure it would make the news bulletins, but I would expect to learn of it through some you-tubers, twitter or other users on here. Its been quiet in regards of both these matters as far as I can see. Of course this my change when boris speaks tomorrow. Amongst other things hes touching on contingency plans if Covid threatens the NHS through to and maybe beyond Christmas. Its quite likely, unless it runs out of steam as it cant find anyone to infect and spread. No sign of that so far. I would think it would be prudent to give more vaccine to vulnerable people, not just those like ourselves but perhaps all over 50s, or 60s. A tough call, a big commitment. If they dont do that it sends a message, to me at any rate.
I called my GP last week and was told 'soon, but not yet'.Nearly 6 months since my 2nd jab, and have school children so it seems inevitable we will catch covid.
I have spoken with two CLL consultants at two hospitals and they recommended I got the third jab but that they would send a letter to the GP as they were unsure of the process. Gov.UK on 1st Sept stated those people who would get the jab would receive their letter in the next 10 days, so hopeful this week. Reality is the process is vague and no one is really sure who has the responsibility of trawling through records and contacting us.
I received a message on my phone from my doctor, saying I will get a message this month to come in to have both flu & booster vaccines.
The Blood Cancer UK website had an article on this.
Paul is having the flu jab today ( he’s starting CLL treatment very soon), but we haven’t heard anything yet about the third dose. I asked his consultant and she said it’s okay for him to go ahead and have it when it’s offered, even though it’s unlikely to make a big difference because he will be on Venetoclax and Rituximab.Stay safe,

I work as 'admin bank staff' for our local NHS in Somerset and we have just started contacting immuno compromised people by telephone to invite them in for their 3rd vaccine. We are up and running and people are able to get an appointment the same day if required. I understand that it is only available from our 2 mass vaccination sites at the moment.

Just had a text with details of a booking site via my GP so going on Saturday afternoon.

Thank you,
Except my health authority used Eventbrite for the booking and I found it impossible to register on my phone so had to use my iPad. No contact telephone number or post code ! I am sure my BP has shot up. Good luck with yours 🤞
