Organic apple cider vinegar "unpasteurized and unfiltered" ?

I am starting to use a very small quantity (spoons full ) of organic apple cider vinegar to spice-up vegetable puree. Can I use the "organic apple cider vinegar" which "unpasteurized and unfiltered" ? I have CLL under near normal CBC control with IMBRUVICA. Also, what if any benefit would any small daily intake (two spoons) of apple cider vinegar produce ?

Certainly use apple cider vinegar in food preparation. It is good for gut health and other things, especially if you use a product that keeps 'the mother' in it (unrefined).

It will have no direct effect on your CLL

Oh dear. Tho' I'm uncomfortable disagreeing with a fellow-member's observation about drinking 'raw'/untreated fermented apple juice, I feel I must.

The prospect of adding raw, unfiltered, fermented, non-pasteurized, 'mother'-apple-juice into any blended vegetable purée (or any other foodstuff that is to be eaten without 3-minutes of boiling) causes my intestines to grumble in unison with the orchestral sounds I fully expect from yours.

Even a few spoonsful added into your blended vegetable juice can easily introduce a 'contamination' of bacteria.

Of course, for those with active immune-systems unblemished by the effects of CLL, the body generally can deactivate most of the harmful bacteria (except botulinum) and is able to cope with the heavy-metals and herbicides/pesticides on and within the original apples. BUT, for those without the natural filter mechanism of an active immune system ~~ one capable of tamping down bacterial bloom ~~ there is always the prospect that ingesting fermented apple juice can be disastrously overwhelming.

Probiotics of every stripe (and fermented apple juice is one in liquid form) work in non-CLL people because they 'challenge' the gut. Sadly, such a challenge for those with compromised immune-systems can potentially be harmful.

Bottom line? Adding raw, unfiltered, fermented, non-pasteurized, 'mother'-apple-juice into any blended vegetable purée CAN do you harm. Why take the risk?

Thank you for the information, which I somehow had expected remembering past information.

I have had CLL for many years now and have never had a problem with organic apple cider vinegar. We eat other fermented foods as well without a problem. I am 74 and in good health without the need for any kind of medication, so fermented foods obviously agree with my body type and my particular flavour of CLL. Each to his/her own. I find it difficult to include the word, 'risk' in this discussion.

I suspect you are right! I have sent my question to my hematologist and wait for advice.

I also have only good results from raw fermented foods during my CLL. In fact a probiotic yogurt with “400 billion” count of bacteria combined raw farm fresh colostrum with vitamin D3 and vitamin k2 and omega 3 oils brought my white blood cell count down gradually over the last two years while I was/am in the watch and wait mode. It has kept me in the stage zero mode fir a year and a half. Stress is no good at all. That makes my wbc go up. I also have found that alcohol makes my wbc go up

Find a probiotic with 400 billion count or/and there is a probiotic with 300 strains of bacteria that comes in kits with colostrum powder. These are the probiotics that activate our macrophages and are sometimes called GcMAF yogurt.

Meanwhile I am to understand that raw bacteria is not good for all people. Find out what works for you

I am 86 with CLL controlled to near normal CBC with IMBRUVICA. My hematologist approved raw, unpasteurized organic vinegar. Since I started it, together with CO Enzime Q 10 , 45 days ago - I notice a dramatic normalization of systolic blood pressure from "elevated 130+ to below range 100 to 120. The PA of my hematologist told me , that her husband who had stomach acid issues, solved them after using some that vinegar, which she stated was "counterintuitively" - the acidic vinegar resolves stomach acid. I always eat organic non-fat plain yogurt: I drain the liquid until it reaches the consistency of "farm cheese".

It ruined the coating of my teeth. I read about it after a month. It was too late. The smooth shiny coating is gone. If you are doing it for your CLL, it has no benefit.
