Hi,

We are sorry to read how unwell you feel. We have a publication on gallstones that does detail surgery. The gallbladder is usually removed by a keyhole surgery procedure. A laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Here is the link;

We wish you well for your surgery and a speedy recovery,

Best wishes

Hi Anna,

I had emergency gallbladder surgery on July 8th. I had that pressure & pain that surrounded me from just under breasts clear around my back. I thought I was having a heart attack. Turned out I had Acute Gallstone Pancreatitis. I also had nausea. I have felt much better since the gallbladder has been removed. Good luck and I hope you feel lots better following surgery (once the initial recovery is over - soreness over incisions). I actually preferred the post surgery pain of incisions to the pre-surgery pressure / pain.

I wish you the best!

Yes, I had keyhole surgery to remove my gallbladder about 6 years ago as I had lots of little stones so was having very painful attacks. Have had no pain at all since then! Good luck.

Had mine out August 2008 after a long time suffering. It was key hole surgery. I was 39 and did take a while to recover and get my energy back. But I never regretted having it done as when I had an attack I used to be in agony. The worrying about it is worse than you'll feel post op. Good luck hope it goes well for you.

Thank you for your encouragement Chell. Funny enough I'm 39 as well! I've been suffering with it for ages too. It will be a relief to have it done, although I feel a bit nervous! Thanks again.
