Hi guys,
I'm 27 y/o and female. I have gallstones and am getting my gallbladder removed this week. For people that are in the same situation as me, am curious to know, what brings on your attacks? For me it was definitely alcohol related.
Thanks!

Also I exercise and eat a healthy diet. Any ideas why I even have gallstones?

Hi
I had my gall bladder out aged 20 in 1985 aged 20!! They told me eating fatty food can cause it but also I'd been on a high fibre diet and my consultant said I hadn't been eating enough fat so the bill was building up cos it hadn't had much to break down the the stones formed. I hope your surgery goes well and you have a good recovery. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Thanks for your reply Lynne!
Hmm..too much fat...too little fat... I have quite a balanced diet so can't see it being either really. I have heard that it can be common in people that don't eat breakfast (me), as there isn't a trigger for the bile to get released.
Yes, I hadn't thought of that . Good luck with your operation this week. What day are you having it done? Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Thank you, it was meant to be tomorrow but they have pushed it, i'm on call for when they have space. Just waiting by the phone..! xx
Hi Violet
Firstly good luck with operation and fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
I had mine removed in 2015 which was a sucess! Mine was caused by eating rich bad foods which I liked to cook with as I entertained alot!
My only recommendation to follow after the op is to totally avoid all greasy foods, eat healthy and keep to a good weight to avoid other medical issues possibly kicking in later!
Good luck and take care !
Trish
Hi Trish, thanks so much for the advice! xx
Violet
You can eat good fats like avocado's etc but in small quantities! It's the bad fats and process meats to avoid and especially to much grease which may give you the runs! This is a common problem after a gallbladder removal! Lucky for me in never happened 😊😊😊
Some people after a gallbladder removal cannot eat curries, but I found as long as there not swimming in oil! I was ok!
Some hospitals will give you advice on the best bland foods you can eat afterwards and some are to busy and forget, then it becomes a trail and error scenario to see which foods you can tolerate!
You can read loads about after care on the web and the complications that can happen a few years later which n some cases mainly kick in after an unhealthy eating plan .
Good luck once again and hope all goes well!
Keep.me updated
Love Trish x
Sounds like you have been lucky with yours. Hopefully mine is the same. Thanks Trish!x
