Gallbladder stones

I have had severe upper abdominal pain for the last 3 days. It seems to get worse at night after eating. I have been to the GP and waiting for an ultrasound. My question is whilst waiting for ultrasound what can I do, take and eat to make the pain go away. Thank you

Hi

If you can manage to eat, then little and often is good, something like chicken soup. Could you get some pain relief from your Dr? I'm on nortriptyline, zomorph, oramorph, paracetamol and on occasion cuprofen. I hope you feel better soon. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

I wish I didn't have to take so many but I wouldn't get out if bed in a morning if I didn't have them!! Take care Lynne

We would suggest that you consider calling your GP and get some specific guidance from them about appropriate pain medications and dietary advice. They have access to your full medical records and are best placed to advise.

Best wishes

Hi Abiyallah, eat healthily and as Lynne says, little and often. Try to drink plenty of water as it helps to flush the system. Best wishes. Alf.

Hi Abi

I was told minimum of 2.5 litres of fluid, preferably water. But of course you must do what you have been told...

Good luck

I’ve had similar problems ,and I don’t take pain relief as it has increased negative effect ,I’ve just discovered intermittent fasting and fasting mimicking by dr Longo ,see YouTube for further info by also take dried burdock root tea ( not tea bags) has eased the discomfort but definitely the 16 hour fast and not eating after 5/6 o’clock has eased my pain and if I slip up and eat late and have a late coffee - I pay the price, this might work for you, good luck 🙏🏽
