Around 6 weeks post graduation (2nd time) now and this time got the mentality to keep going. Found the second time so much easier, know what to expect, took it steadier and took an extra rest day if needed. Took a couple of weeks off C25k and Beyond c25k just to keep consolidating and getting used to 30 minute runs. Also now learning to transition from treadmill to outside, that has been a shock! Now done two park runs and some real outside running. Got my first muscle strain yesterday , so now I know I am not superhuman.

I am definitely looking forward to my journey onwards and fully aware that this is just the start, I have some goals I want to hit but taking it one run at a time.

Six weeks and still going. You’ve now formed a habit and it sounds as if you are doing really well 👍

I transitioned from the treadmill to outside so know what it’s like. Slowing right down really helped me and I transitioned slowly and built up. I ran on a treadmill again recently and found it really hard work 🥵 and hot!

Hope the muscle strain settles down. It sounds as if you are listening to your body 🤞

Brilliant to see you here T2! It sounds like you’ve been in a really nice pattern of running. Sorry about the muscle strain. Hopefully it’ll heal quickly. Depending on how that goes, it’s worth considering seeing a physio. They’re often really helpful in coming back and getting stronger so it is less likely to happen again.

Obviously recovery is your priority now, but I was wondering if you’ve thought about any goals you might like to work towards when you’re ready? That can help shape what you’d like your post-c25k running to look like.

Good luck to you!

Long term, not thinking that far ahead at the moment. That said, I have always had a dream of running the London marathon, short term I have done one by doing a park run, now for me it's about gaining fitness and speed, but in no great rush for speed, fitness is the key for me, getting my stamina up. I would love to get to half marathon fitness for now.

oh no. Calf strains. I’ve had them as well, in my 3rd year of running, but got them when walking, rather than running.

Take it easy and slow.
