Good morning runners! Got home late last night after a few days working away and no running and decided this morning to take on a 1 HR run with the goal of getting an under 1hr 10km. Easily my longest run in a number of years and happy to say I completed it without any problems! Even had a couple of stops for pesky road crossing and still was easily in time.

A great run in which I never really got out of breath, could have maybe managed another km but didn't want to do anything silly.

Figures attached, I hope everybody is doing well! Happy running!

Congrats buddy, that’s some running. You’re really back into the swing of things.

Here’s to many more straightforward, easy runs ahead. Have a great weekend.

Cheers SD! How are you getting on with c2k5?

Doing ok, thanks. Finished week 4 yesterday. The two early runs were quite tough, doable, but I was definitely counting each step I made while willing Jo Whiley to tell me I was half way through a run or could start walking again!

Yesterday’s run was better, I think I got my breathing right and the running seemed to flow a little better. Next week is the weird week, with that 20 minute run at the end! I know I’ve managed it twice before but it still seems daunting.

Well done on your running fella. It’s didn’t take too long for you to find your fitness and speed again 👊💪

Glad your getting back into it, week 5 run 3 is always scary! You will do it though just a case of sticking with the plan and keep putting one foot in front of the other💪🏻 once your over that hurdle the rest of c2k5 goes pretty smoothly.

I'm absolutely amazed I've got back up to reasonable fitness levels so quickly, wasn't sure if manage it being a bit older and a bit fatter 😂 but seem to be getting there and hopefully can keep improving.

Rest day today but will come up with a plan for some kind of run early in the morning.

Thanks mate, I know W3R5 is basically pacing yourself and a mental battle with yourself that you can keep going, but yep, definitely still scary!

How is the weight loss coming along and did you get yourself some scales in the end? I have some Renpho scales, which are pretty good, if you're still looking for some. And how about cutting out the booze? Did you manage to say completely sober when out with your mates?

Enjoy your weekend.

I also got Renpho! They seem pretty good and link to my various apps ok after a bit of tinkering. Bad week this week gained a little but I'm sure il be back on track next week.

Drinking I managed a decent amount of time (for me😂) without booze at all but I just can't do it when I'm out with the lads, it's tough when everyone is drinking so I just figure il drink BUT a lot less often than I used to.

I've barely moved today so double efforts tomorrow to finish the week strong.

Enjoy your weekend too pal
