Yesterday I came back from a 3-day work trip from Leeds.
I had my shoes packed, my running gear ready and my Leeds Music playlist all ready to go. But the heat and a bad night, with something that I can only assume was an allergic reaction to some gluten I unwittingly ate, resulted in only a lot of walking, but no running or jeffing.
So back home, and after a solid night of sleep, I took out my running kit, and jeffed to a happy playlist full of music artists from Leeds. And although I was more out of breath than usual, it also felt better than usual.
So what my experience told me was:
- I find it easier to keep up my daily running patterns when at home
- a good night sleep is essential for my running
- I might just not be the person who can easily run when travelling
So I’m in awe of all you run-tourists, and although I will continue to pack my running gear, it might just not be me. But hoping that it’s another learnable skill, rather than a character trait.
But I enjoyed my “home run” this morning immensely, so it’s all good.
My Spotify music playlist I used is at spotify.link/jd3GcoMaWCb
Happy running, everyone!
