Hi all, just a quick post about today's run. In my quest to get fit again I today managed 8k, my longest run in a long long time. I set off really intending to do a 5k but I felt great and kept running. I don't think I could have went on to the 10k mark, certainly not maintaing the reasonable pace I was going at so decided to call it at 8k. Very very happy to have got it done however and to be heading back in the right direction for longer runs.

That sounds like a super run. Those spur of the moment “I think I’ll keep going” ones often are. Congrats! It’s such a mood boost to have a run like that.
I think you’d be surprised at how far you could go if you slowed a little and channeled “chill” mode. You’ll be at 10k before you know it. Are you following a vague plan or doing organic gentle build? Both are good options!
Lol that's how I ended up doing half marathon, no route planned etc just relaxed and ran where I felt like....just kept going and going when I realised there was a HM on 😂
Fantastic run there matey. 8K!! I can barely cover 3K at the moment so you're giving me goals. Week 4 is tough!! Was it this tough the last two times!!!
