This morning for my midweek run I only walked for two minutes to a disused school football pitch near to where I live because a lot of the pavements are very icy, I ran an 8K around that football pitch 40 times, I saw the moon set behind the hills to the northwest, 4 minutes later I saw to the south-east the sunrise, a nice run despite running around the football pitch at least 40 times on that 8K run.

Moonset Sunrise 8K run
Wow, I hope you didn't get dizzy running round that football pitch so many times! π€£ It's good that you had the moon to focus on, sounds like a lovely time of day to run, despite the icy conditions. Well done on a full 8k, I think I would've given up after 4 laps, let alone 40! πππa good run to start the day, no doubt π
I did lose count quickly, if you want to see the full video, it's on Relive with a photo of the moon setting over the snow capped hills to the north west and the sun rising to the south east, the little dot on Relive Video told me that I ran around that pitch at least 40 times, no, I didn't feel dizzy, remember that during lockdown in April some runners ran a MARATHON in their gardens, more than a thousand times in some instances.
sounds great. Please could you tell me what is Relive??
Relive is a app, designed in the Netherlands which shows a short video in 3D of where you have walked, ran or cycled. You can stop at any time to take a photograph, it can be linked to Strava or Mapmyrun/walk /ride
On the playback you will see where you have been, including any photos you have taken, worth a try for you Rosec25k
Thank you. Maybe when I have completed C25k π
That's great, I didn't know about Relive, I will take a look πHappy new year!!π₯
A very happy New Year to you Beatlesforever, I am sure you will enjoy Relive.
All this week I have been listening to another of those chart top hit radio programmes from Holland, this week it has been the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000, I have heard many Beatles songs on it, ABBA, Queen and David Bowie have featured on it as well.
I think my head would have been spinning after running round and round and round and round like that!π₯΄Well done on persevering for a full 8k!
It must have been nice to see the moonset π΄ and sunrise π on your run
It did stop to take a photo of the moon set and sun rise, the temperature was around - 4C so I didn't want to stop after that, it was only on the short two minutes walk home I started to feel cold, when I got home I ate a Mince Pie (only 4 left) and a nice hot drink of coffee.
Sounds lovely. We have only one mince pie left so it will either be a fight, draw straws or half each between me and Mr B!
Geoff bought 3 more boxes of mince pies 8n Aldi yesterday - 39 pence each.
I have only had 2 mince pies this year, not overkeen on the pastry on bought ones and I haven't made any for some reason - possibly because I used the mincemeat to make a cake. Twice!
Oh wow, that's very good value! Aldi is very good for Christmassy stuff. I made my own mince pies this year, the pastry recipe was enough for 15 deep filled pies but we've got about a dozen left! We were expecting family before going into tier 4 just before Christmas so we've had loads of food to get through... We've got a very full freezer at the moment! ππ
Our freezer is pretty full. If you have space you can freeze the mince pies if they are"proper pastry"
This afternoon I will take Holly the dog her afternoon walk, when I come back I will have another Mince Pie which will leave 3 left, on Thursday two left, after Friday morning's New Year's Day walk with Holly I will eat another which will leave the very last Mince Pie of Christmas 2020 for me to eat after my 42nd virtual parkrun on Saturday morning probably where I ran this morning.
What a beautiful run that must've been AlMorr!
Wow, I'm super impressed with that, I opted to brave the road conditions out in the country rather than run 4 times round our newly gritted village. Amazing to see the sun rise and moon set during your run, very special. Happy running π€
Lovely, a very interesting fact about the moon when it's full at this time of the year, a full moon in December and the sun in mid summer in June are in about the same position in the sky, so where I saw the moon set this morning over the hills is about the same place as the sun sets around June 21st.
I see in the comments youβve mentioned taking Holly the dog out on a walk - please share a photo if you do!
Hi AL, Iβm used to running rounds and rounds on deck so I know how you felt 40 times round that track πππ
Fortunately, I have the big sea view to look at every now and then to stop me from going dizzy π₯΄ πππ
Well done AlMorr. Its great to have a place to run when the pavements aren't an option ππ
The sunrise has been spectacular recently, and getting to see the moon set on the same run is special.Great idea to run round the football pitch to avoid the icy pavements. You've made me think where my nearest pitch is in case I have to do the same π
This football pitch is never used for any organised games, the surface is mainly rough gravel, however, today it was covered with a light covering of snow which was easy to run on, there is another grass football pitch within the same park which is used mainly for boys organised football matches.
Keep safe out there Al, football pitch might be a bit boring but icy paths are treacherous
