Well today was my long run day of 8k. You know you just get one of those runs that just work , legs ok , breathing ok everything just happened as if by itself . I really really thought my limit was 5k but after today I'm sure I will get to 10k now. C25k has a lot to answer for , in a good way and I couldn't have done it without all you brilliant people .
I'm so happy , can you tell 😊😊😊

Congratulations on running 8K this morning, the temperature was - 5C/23F, well done, I am sure you will be able to run a 10K soon in around a hour. 😊 🏃🏾
I am on the way back from Drumpellier Park where I mainly walked the parkrun course, I did run a little as my time was
46.10 using MapmyWALK, I did not have any running gear with me, the purpose of the exercise was to see if the official distance was the same as your Strava or my Mapmyrun, I would say that I finished my 5K walk about 40 metres BEYOND that on a Saturday morning, interesting 🤔Keep warm😉
Yes I did, a little running as well, but it was mainly a walk, there is ice across the loch at Drumpelliier, no wonder, the midday temperatures is still at 0C/32F, apart from that, it is a beautiful sunny day, great day for a brisk 🚶 walk or run. 🏃🏾 👍
Very well done Buddy34! I am in the stage of wondering if 5K is my natural limit but this post does give me hope! I need to do 6K this week but the cold weather is really putting me off.....
It's really cold on the warm up brisk walk but once you're running you usually heat up nicely. I was thinking about buying a runnung gillet or a body warmer as I call it. Spotted one in Decathlon, I really need to stay of their website 😂
I bought one....but mine was from Tescos when they had 20% off. I realised at Park Run on Saturday that everything I was wearing, with the exception of my socks and trainers, were from supermarkets.
Well done Buddy34, that's brilliant and great time too! Sounds like you were in the zone today (unlike me 😂) and just ran your 8k easily, how fantastic is that?!
I did 8k today as well. The first 30 minutes was a bit harder than expected but I had to stop and sort the music out at that point,. Almost immediately I found it easier going - not entirely because it was slightly downhill, I am sure
In fact I missed a turning so ended up running up a crescent rather than my usual down and even that was ok.
Today's run has restored faith in myself. As I seem to have a problem with slowing down. But i did a bit better today and that must be why the run felt so good even though it was longer. 😊
I was glad of a longer run today because I had an unexpectedly short run on Wednesday- 2k, including a walk home after a close encounter with the pavement. I caught my foot on a raised slab. No serious damage although the dressing on my arm was a shame on Friday when I was modelling posh frocks for a charity fashion show Not exactly a fashion accessory!
And the parkrun on Saturday was more of a trudge through the mud which is back with a vengeance, we even have a new Wallow thanks to subsidence alongside the river which has resulted in a diversion.
You are doing brilliantly Buddy34. Of course you will make 10k! I have news for you.. 10k to 10 miles is much easier than 5k to 10k. Sky is the limit 👍👍👏👏👏👏
