Set out this morning, beautiful blue skys, fully intending a slow longer run.. after running my fastest 5K on Tuesday ☺️
I've never tried a slow run before, always giving every run my best..but after my post yesterday " Q for our over 50's"
I learned a lot from some replys 👏
So from the outset just took it very easy.. pace around 8:15 per K ,took in the changing spring scenery around the lake, enjoyed the swans and birdlife, buds blooming on the trees..
I can honestly say it was an easy run.. never pushed atall.. just focused on staying slow and comfortable, I definitely will be using this method on my longer runs from now on , it definitely was much more enjoyable ☺️
So 8K time was 1:05 hr.. not so bad actually 👏🏅 Happy with that 👏
Happy Running all 🏃♀️🏃♂️

Sounds a nice comfortable run Caroline, and my sort of pace too, which i find more enjoyable, never really out of breath at the end, even the longer runs. Did a slow, 42 min 5k last night with daughter, was very chatty, hence slower pace! 🤣
Well done! I find it hard to really slow down - and I find it hard to speed up. I just err towards the middle - which gets boring. You’ve inspired me to slow it down for my next run and to take in the sights and sounds. Congratulations on your run!
Funny you say that, constantly I had to remind myself to slow.. just slow.. but every time I did I was rewarded with the ease of my run.. took more time to focus on my posture.. head up.. shoulders relaxed, and just take in my surroundings .. at the 3k I'm thinking a long way to go.. again I reminded myself I was out for a longer SLOW run.. enjoy it.. I took a different path which is a cut off from my lake loop, runs around it, I've never dared try before.. i got lost for a bit and had to back track, was very relieved to see the lake again 😆 but it definitely added some adventure to my run.. and will encourage me to venture..I find losing myself in my music helps x
I hope this encourages you and looking forward to reading your next post 🏃♀️🙏
