10K training

The 10K run is now less than two weeks away. Three of us did our 5th 10K run today and I am feeling ready for race day on 29th!

I think that the whooping cough that has really stunted my progress over the last 13 weeks is very slowly improving and my lung capacity is gradually improving too. At the park run on Saturday I was one second short of my PB for that course….. so I think I am ready as i will ever be for the 10K ‘dare’ that several of us agreed at the start of the year 😄.

How exciting for you! Illness during training is a right pain (covid for me) but that 10k will feel extra sweet when you cross the line. You’ve done brilliantly to get back on track and you can just go and enjoy it!

Make sure you trade in your 60minute badge for a 10k one when you’re ready..

It sounds to me as though you have well and truly cracked 10k. After your 10k race, your mind may start to think about “what’s next?”….maybe you will need another dare. There is Fun Beyond 10k……too, when you feel ready. Long slow runs are great for building strength; just saying 🙂
