I only had half an hour this morning, and am slotting in some quick runs in before my weekend 5k graduation run (which will not be quite 5k), but so tried this audio guided run from Runkeeper’s collection.
Fartleks and Return to running.
Worked well for my purposes, I can recommend. But it’s sadly behind a subscription paywall.
But great alternative to NRC’s Coach B.
Happy running folks!

I'm not missing the jabbering at the moment, though this morning I really did not enjoy a single track in the Coldplay playlist which has somehow appeared on my phone; most songs got a minute before I skipped. I finished in silence and would have preferred a Coach B word game. Possibly ...
Ha! We shared earbuds for C25k and every track was Coldplay... I treated myself to a pair on graduation and started to choose my own music, I like a bit of Coldplay but like a change and find them a bit slow for running. Yesterday I listened to Geri Halliwell and find she's got a nice bounce . .left it in when I got home and danced my way through the housework. Paul Simon has that affect too and T Rex, my teenage favourite....mostly I have mixed play lists .I don't tell everyone this but if I'm having a can't sleep night I find a coach B podcast sends me off in minutes 🤣
You know, I think it WAS the beat of the track! Also, like you I prefer a mixed playlist. Another factor is I have open ear headphones (so I can hear traffic on the road) and have the NRC app open to record the runs; the app seems to lower the volume of the music and that means I can't properly hear the lyrics, so it was just a mindless blur of semi-understood words at the wrong pace. But apart from that it was awesome! 🤣
Awesome runs are a wonderful thing, Willow only ran to Coldplay, he ran to the beat, one day he put something else on and ran faster....he got really puffed out and we laughed and laughed, but he never tried that again, I on the other hand can run the same pace whatever the best 😁
Sometimes if you stop the run once just started it goes back to the music fading when NRC talks then goes back up when he stops talking, I love my open ear headphones
