Havenβt posted for a while on my running, but am still getting out there at least 3 times a week. The weather in London has been fantastic for running - mild, mostly dry and with some gorgeous blue sky days. It has been a real pleasure watching autumn unfold in the streets, parks and woodlands I pootle around. The colours have been amazing this year, and this morning I noticed everything is now a mellow yellow.
After a speedy 5k and a weirdly tough 3k this week, I decided to treat myself to a leisurely long run today. Planned on 10k, ended up at 11k. I have discovered that it is around the 8k mark that the endorphins kick in with me, and at this point I was out of the woods and in the park. A poor elderly couple out walking were the lucky recipients of my joy and I shrieked out βbeautiful day, isnβt it?!β as I gazelled past them. They took it well, bless them.
Happy weekends and happy running to you all. π

I bet you made their day Sadie..springing along with the joys of Autumn in your step..wow...11k that is runtastic!! Your report has made me smile this morning xxx
Aw, thank you MC! I thought of you on my run today. I thought βif only Bev-lar lived closer, I would bring her on this run route (itβs so pretty) and we would get her mojo back, no problem.β How are you doing? xxx
Haven't been out yet...just thought I'd have the weekend off, it's not like I have to cram everything in during the week so I might just go out tomorrow...I would love to join you on your pretty route x
Fantastic run Sadie and brilliant time!πββοΈπββοΈππVery gazelle indeed!π€£π€£β€οΈ
Thank you so much, dear Peggy. When I first started C25K I gallumped around in an ungainly fashion. I vowed to myself that one day I would run like a gazelle. π¦ π xxx
Hey Sadie thatβs brilliant, I need a bit of positivity in my day! Well done on your 11k. However experienced a runner you are, thatβs such an achievement. You, missy, are inspirational, do you know that?
Iβm hoping to get out later myself, but woke up with a splitting headache, so waiting a bit, plus I have my youngest here, and sheβs taking after her dad and getting into programming on her new BBC microbit
Hope you have a great day, your lovely run report has put a smile on my face!
Aw, thanks buddy. Have gone beyond 10k in a while, so it was pleasing to see I had it in me still. (Though granny nap pencilled in for this afternoon to recover π)
Hope your headache has cleared and you get out for a run. Hope itβs as gloriously sunny where you are, too - perfect running weather!
It was so beautiful this morning. As I was running through a local country park this morning I actually thought to myself, wow, this looks as beautiful as Sadie's parks, and I felt very lucky Good to hear you had yet another great run
I just love the image of you in βhappy shrieking gazelleβ mode. π I bet that couple loved sharing that moment with you. Gorgeous Autumn photos too. π xx
What a gorgeous place to run! I'd love to run through some lovely mellow yellows, but was slogging through snow banks yesterday π . Feeling it in my legs today. Time to condition the legs to running in snow again; it's hard work. I'm sure the elderly couple were pleased to see such a happy enthusiastic runner!
I am very lucky, Sask, living in London but in a place surrounded by parks and trees. If you are ever in London come run my routes with me! Hope your legs adjust to the snowy conditions soon. You are a super hero runner in my eyes. πππ
Sounds lovely Sadie, and what a great distance...it does take a while for those robot legs to kick in and the endorphins to flow doesn't it...before your inner gazelle is released! π ( prancing pony for meπ)
I'm just doing little but often this month so its all quite hard work....ππ
...and the robot legs only last for 1km but Iβll take that! Thanks Jan. I do love my long runs, especially on a sunny autumn day.
Prancing pony π΄? I love that! Little and often sounds good - I might try that after Iβve got this distance thing out of my system. But it does sound hard!
What a lovely run Sadie and totally agree that autumn has been awesome this year, probably as a result of the hot summer. The London parks must be fantastic for running as they are so big. Lots of even paths and no traffic.
I love chatting to people as I go around too. If you can make one person smile each day itβs a great achievement.
Thanks Dexy! This is definitely my favourite time of year for running. Getting in as much as I can before my least favourite - Jan-Apr and the horror π± of icy conditions.
I am taking two months off work next year, beginning May. It is my intention to run in every Royal Park!
What an excellent running quest. Yes all is well with me. Iβm having a weekend at my sisterβs so will post later.
Beautiful pics Sadie! The autumnal yellows are absolutely amazing at the moment. Sounds like a lovely run... 11K too! ...cus ya just fancied it! π I hope your Sunday rest day is just as perfect π
Thanks ThunderSloth! It was a beautiful run. Rest day included a walk around the very same park with me other half - gorgeous day again. βοΈππβοΈ Hope all is well with you! x
