I Run... and I Ramble... whatever...

Well... so said Coach Bennett this morning, whilst I ran... but I do feel I said it first... ?

Anyway., today... I just realised that I have not posted a run or runs for ages... and I wanted to... and whilst I was running.. all sorts of funny lines were running through my head... so, I do apologise... Floss rambling rhyme coming up!

***

I haven't rambled for a while

But now, uh oh, I'm back.

I feel the urge to share my runs

Now that I'm back on track.

***

I've not been idle until now.

I've Yoga-d and I've run...

I moved all through Red January,

Whilst having lots of fun.

***

The weather did its very best

To keep me from my course

So, exercises for strength and flex,

I did it all indoors!

***

I've made my way back to 5K,

Steady of course, and slow

Then moving on to Ju Ju's plan

Towards 10K , you know.

***

Then snow came and the slippery stuff

The rain and wind , so rough.

The runs were few, the weather dire

It really was quite tough.

***

But every time there was a break,

A glimpse of sun or dry,

I got out there for a short and sweet.

With every chance I could take.

***

I'm moving on to Week 3 now.

I'm using time, not miles.

The forum posts and Questing chums,

Supporting all the while.

***

I run for pure enjoyment,

Nor for a speedy pace

I simply run because I can,

A smile upon my face.

***

So now you know, just what I've done

Because I am a runner too

Not just a grey haired, old Admin'

Who writes replies to you.

***

I've missed posting my rambles.

But now, there's more to come

So if you don't like reading them?

Well, now's the time to run!!!

***

I ran today... Coach Bennett and I... he stayed with me for 25 minutes, then I did ten minutes more. Longest run, ( for me), for a while x

Steady breathing, despite it being chiller than I thought.

Knees and lower back complained a tad, after a morning spent yesterday, lifting and lowering down stuff form my studio loft.

But.. everything eased and loosened by the time I was halfway up the hill. A bit slower than usual, up the hill, but I knew the reason. It was a good run... and the snowdrops in the little wood were out too !

Apologies again for the awful rhyme... I promise to post properly next time!

You don't need to apologise for the rhyme Oldfloss, I liked it, another ramble from you cheers many people on this forum with joy, your poems about your runs are very entertaining to read, I like the corner, although as you know I tend to eat ice cream chocolate swirls rather than hot chocolate or coffee.

I have the ice cream choice, noted and stocked Al! Thank you my friend... you have had to read an awful lot of my rambles and rhymes over the years!

Great to hear that everything is going to plan  Oldfloss . Ju ju’s plan is a great way of getting you back to 60 mins running again and then on to 10k. Perfectly timed too.

I don’t think you will hear any complaints about you producing a poem like that. So clever.

Hello. I have repeated it with Ju a few times after setbacks... I feel it suits me and is so familiar. No pressure and can be tweaked to time constraints etc.. with appointments for Mr OF here and there, things do not always go to plan!

Yes.. i was rhyming as I ran... forgot to add my new exercise addition of a T'ai Chi Class! Difficult to rhyme with maybe?

Thank you x

Admit it SueAppleRun , you were tempted to say “… for taking the time, to make up a rhyme…”

And yes, completely agree, wish I were as rhyming a wordsmith …

Fantastic run!! I always find when I’m building back, that first one that’s longer than thirty minutes feels like such a milestone. Enjoy that wonderful feeling and keep rambling!

Goodness Floss, you are a whirlwind of energy, how do you manage to fit everything in!

A really brilliant poem written on the run, and a very good run it was too. You had a full RED January, no grass growing under your feet.

Your Catch up Corner and Changing Room posts helpful and inspiring as always, plus keeping an admin eye on the forums and the encouragement you readily offer to our newbies.... you are a marvel!

Thank you for making me smile yet again with this run report. This has reminded me that all of our runs are worthwhile and special.

Happy running and everything else you do!

Thank YOU so much ! That has made me smile... because although my exercise was so varied and often in short bursts... it happened... every day of January! That gives me a positive boost.

I am really just one of the group and am lucky enough to have a lovely role supporting our friends here... and making friends along the way...it was how you and I met... !

You are quite right, ALL our rubs are worthwhile and special...they really are... the relaxed runs, the ones we just manage to fit in, the first tentative ones after illness , injury or time out.

It is good to be reminded of it, it helps us all to realise, just how special we are !
