Whenever I set out to try for a PB it doesn’t really happen for me. It’s when I am not really thinking about it and boom it happens!
Today I set out on my monthly 10k ( something I challenged myself to do and have kept up since July)
I wasn’t on a mission at all and every last 10k has weirdly been 1 hour 8 mins +/- seconds. So today I wasn’t expecting anything different just keep an easy steady pace. However I did feel in the zone and was running well. The good type of run where you feel like you could just keep going so I stretched it to 10.5km. My longest run so far and lo and behold I managed a PB
1 hour 6 mins. Feeling very happy!🎖️

Congratulations to you RosesAreRed777 on that 10.5K PB, of 1 hour 6 minutes, if you keep going with running a 10K at least once a month you might be able to get a sub 60 minutes 10K in the future.
I pressed some random button the other day and from just being able to run 6k, I was seeing projections at distances up to marathon! I've no idea how I got to it, but I was kind of freaked. I wish I could find it again as I know I'd be nowhere near your time for 10k!
Slowly slowly we make progress. Funny, marathons and half marathons keep creeping into the corners of my mind too, before they quickly get swept away with my ‘don’t be ridiculous broom’! Never say never!
Absolutely super news-congratulations! Those kinds of runs are the best-we all live for those! You deserve to be super proud of yourself.
It sounds like you’ve built a great base of running if you wanted to think about a half marathon. That’s what I did after 10k and I loved it. If you’re even tempted a bit (which I can see you are!), why not have a browse around the Fun Beyond 10k board? You’ll see a lot of the same names over there. Super friendly and it doesn’t commit you to running any particular distance. It might provide you with some inspiration and ideas for the future.
Sure, currently apart from a monthly 10k I am running 2x 5k per week as a minimum through winter. Will aim to do longer runs 3 times a week when the weather gets better.
