I headed out this morning for my fourth run of the week, having completed three 6k runs already. As today was a day off, I wasn’t in a rush so thought I would aim for 7.5k. At the 7.5k I still felt good so thought I might as well go for 10k as it had been a couple of months since my last 10k. I wasn’t paying any attention to my pace, so was surprised when I finished the 10k to find I had done it in a little under 61 mins, even more amazed as this was 3 mins quicker than my previous 10k PB. I’m sure it’s because I wasn’t really bothered about speed today.
Mind you, certainly makes the sub 60 min 10k a real possibility now, whereas previously I never thought I would get below the 64/65 min mark.
It’s on days like today, I have to pinch myself to remind myself that this time 2 years ago I was only on about week 6 of the plan !! Amazing!

I fully subscribe to that strategy after completely ignoring pace this morning ! Not sure why but a sub 60 seems like one of those ‘milestones’ I need to tick off, now I am so close. Mind you it will happen whenever it happens !
