Omg it's ages or it seems so since I posted anything. Home schooling, and working dafter than daft hours but doing my utmost to squeeze my runs in as and when π¬π₯΄.
At best I'm managing every other day, but with slips and life demands thoee non running days have sometimes been as long as 5 days without lacing up the trainers grrrrrrr...
And then there's the issue of the sun, it's been. Sooooo brutally hot in my little corner of Welsh Wales and due to my delicate skin and a condition called...
Polymorphic light eruption (imagine prickly heat and multiply the itching by a trillion π).
Our little Welsh heatwave actually replaced the sunshine the family were meant to be enjoying in Majorca but π that didn't happen for reasons obvious.
So family time was spent tweaking the garden space and fence painting π¨βπ¨.
And assembling a huge teenager friendly trampoline ( that took many hours ).
Today though it looks like the Welsh government have revealed a plan for the reopening of schools so normalities may be just around the corner π€
Today's run was absolutely perfect it poured down, like proper soaked to the skin wet Welsh rain and it was lovely the itchy skin soothed the towpaths were isolated, and the warm damp air was heavy with the scents of the wild garlic..... perfect!
Keep safe keep running every one

Good to hear from you stranger!!
Sorry to read you've been struggling with a former ailment of mine - polymorphic light eruption is really rotten (don't let anyone dare say prickly heat - it most definitely isn't!!).
I came down with it on my honeymoon 25 years ago having not had a sunny, hot holiday for several years. We laughingly said I was allergic to my husband, but it wasn't a laughing matter when it kept coming back every summer!! I ended up having steroid injections at the start of each summer and using RoC sun-screen. Note I say former ailment, as it thankfully disappeared after I had my children and it hasn't come back, but I remember it well, so you have my every sympathy.
It sounds like you have been busy however and fitting some runs in too, which is great.
Enjoy the rain on your runs - think we've got a few days of it in The South Downs too.
Happy running π

Hiya DD and thank you π€ I thought I'd avoided the itching this year but it arrived late π€ luckily after a little faffing the Dr decided to allow me a prescription of an old repeat.. ahhhhhh the soothing sensation of steroid cream is better than anything at times π.
Wow what a very busy time you've been having, surprised you've managed any running. The cooler weather has been wonderful for running - luckily mine was with wind not rain but I can imagine the relief of that cool rain on your skin. Happy running π€
I'm waiting for a letter to retired teachers. Scottish schools not due back until mid Aug but hearing on the grapevine there is a shortage of teachers as class sizes will be capped at 10.
PLE is no joke. You should be able to get script for course of oral steroids that you can use at start of each summer until youβve desensitised yourself. π
Thanks Reggiegirl currently using a steroid cream so I'm gonna enquire about your suggestion Delly-dot also mentioned injections so that's another plan π
Great to see your post! Nice to have a bit of rain again but sorry itchy and scratchy I need a little it more sun back! π In all seriousness that does sound like it totally sucks!
Teenagers...blooming pests! Get them to put their own trampoline up. What did their last slave die of? That's what YouTube is for surely!? π
