What? Me? A treadmill?

This weekend I've been at my niece's wedding in Paris. It's been wonderful, catching up with family I haven't seen since pre pandemic. A lot of food was involved 😁By Saturday I really needed a run. I checked the map but couldn't see anywhere nearby that didn't involve busy roads so decided to try the hotel's treadmill.

It felt a little odd walking through the lobby in running gear but luckily the gym was empty. It was small so I was worried I'd have to wait as this would have put me off.

It's over 20 years since I've used one of these so I enlisted Coach Bennett's help, the First Treadmill Run. Couldn't get music on BBC Sounds as I was outside the UK, never mind, it's only 24 minutes. Pressed start and off I went.

What a revelation, I really enjoyed it! The time flew by. It was so effortless, not having to look out for horse poo, dog poo, holes, puddles, branches or the possibility of a mad maniac 😂. I might do this again.

Even better, as I walked back through the lobby my lovely nephew brought me a great breakfast from the buffet!

I had to resort to the treadmill when I was doing c25k because of bad weather, and it is great as a way of getting your runs in. But I cannot run much beyond 30 minutes on them without getting bored.

Well done you. A wedding in Paris sounds fun.

I wouldn't have used the treadmill if I'd had a reasonable alternative. Quite keen to try it again 😁

Fantastic! I enjoy a treadmill run as long as it’s not too long-I’ll look up the NRC run. That will make a change from the trashy TV I usually watch at the gym as a guilty pleasure!!!

Coach B is well on form, not waffly. Maybe if you've done a lot of treadmill runs already it'd be a bit basic but it was perfect for a beginner like me 😁
