Garmin coach 1/2 marathon.

I’m on my second week of 1/2 marathon training with coach Greg on Garmin, but I am running less kms and slower than I would normally.

As it’s my first Garmin coaching foray, I was wandering if this is normal to get everything back to basics?

My usual running week is: 10k, 5k and 10k.

Every plan I've ever looked at starts with a couple of easy weeks, I've really no idea why. They ramp up quite quickly though!

Hi SteveE57 , I know nothing about the Garmin HM plan, but if you'd like to pop over to the Marathon forum - healthunlocked.com/marathon... - you'll find others who do!

Btw the Marathon forum is soon-to-be-renamed, because it's not just for marathoners. Here's the blurb: This community connects and supports road, track and trail runners exploring beyond 10K (10 miles, half, full and ultra marathon, triathlon) and those taking part in racing events at all distances. We share stories, knowledge and experiences about training, nutrition, coping with injury, and more. Join us for helpful tips, weekly chats, race support (our famous pompoms), virtual events and fun challenges - everyone is welcome, whatever your level or ability!

Of course you can also continue to post on Bridge, it's simply that as the name suggests, it's aimed more at runners looking to crack a 10k and more recent NHS Couch to 5K Graduates, as well as and other more experienced runners.

I started that plan but fizzled out after a couple of weeks, the runs were too short, but might be worth sticking with it to see what happens next

I'm with Garmin Coach as an experiment. 5k. I don't get it. 2 min warm up. (I start 2mins away from my 5min start !). Doesn't seem to be increasing the distance. I usually start running again after the 2min cool down.

Update!

Unexpected early morning run. Went so well that i lightly jogged the cool down, (not that different). After being on 2.86k for ages I notice that on Friday we shoot up to 4.14k. That'll teach me! It's all in the mind, right? Here goes :-)
