Well me I like pretty, and smart functions, so a year ago I bought myself a Venu 2 plus, and pretty it was. I like the sleep score, body battery and pulse ox. When it was Willows turn I bought a forerunner 645 music. I must admit some of my reason was cost, he never wore it all the time and he wasn't as interested in stats as me, but he did like having music on it when he ran. Then he stopped running and it sat on the side.
Anyway, earlier this year I noticed my watch kept updating GPS, every time I put it on charge, took it off charge, put it on my wrist and random times when I looked at it
I emailed Garmin explaining and got a long complicated email back with instructions and if none of them worked to send a report. All of which I did and they agreed to replace it. They sent me a label and I posted it off......on 30th June, it went to Newhaven and sat there and sat there.....I sent another email and with many apologies they shipped the replacement, it went to Newhaven so I didn't have high hopes but today a nice young man delivered it to me. π
I've been using the forerunner, missing some things but enjoying the training stats.
After some setting up, I have my very pretty watch back, and the forerunner is going back in its box.
I didn't run today but did walk with a friend.
Saturday tomorrow and we all know what that means π for many it's Parkrun, so if you are running have fun and if you are resting rest well,

I do like the look of that watch and it is pretty π I have an Apple Watch but only know how to use certain bits of it as there is soooo much itβs a bit overwhelming and then I give up ππ
I lusted after an Apple watch for all of 5 minutes, it was always going to be a Garmin for me as soon as I could afford one, I'm so pleased to have this one back. All I have to do now is find a home for the other one, I can't sell things, it just doesn't feel right.
I'm hoping to enjoy being a volunteer, it's all really new to me but something good and fun to be part of. When I retired several friends suggested I find a hobby! It seems running is the hobby I expanded. I think my friends were thinking more along the lines of jigsaw puzzles π€£π€£π€£ I might enjoy a jigsaw in winter but at the moment between the garden and running there isn't much energy left for hobbies, and there's still ceilings to paint if I get bored. I'll look forward to reading your parkrun reports Brian, π
That is pretty. I had to forego my prettier polar watch for the Garmin forerunner 245 because I wanted the buttons not a screen this time. I made it prettier by adding a pink wrist strap but still getting used to its rugged look π€ glad yours was sorted and hope it behaved at park run.
How is that working out? Are you happy with it?I'm looking for a Garmin and thinking about the Venu 2 S in the same colours as yours. I won't be looking at the plus as I have small wrists and those 3mm will make a big difference to me!
I was really happy to have my Venu 2 plus back, theres a Venu 3 out now which has the smaller size, but Im not sure looking at what's new that its worth upgrading, I've been eagerly waiting for it. If I was starting again I'd go for one of the forerunners, the Venu is a great watch though with a beautiful screen and good battery life. I spent some time lusting over a Garmin with solar charging, then realised I'd never be out with no access to electricity for long enough to make it worth the money.
All the Garmin s I've bought have been capable of storing music and playing over bluetooth headphones but.....I still take my phone so mostly use that for music.
Ha ha, ive been looking and not sure worth upgrading at this time but if I didnt have a Garmin it probably be the one I'd look closely at. I bought my first Garmin with music when I dropped my phone and smashed the screen, then about a year later I discovered leggings with a thigh phone pockets π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£ if I'd found them first I doubt I'd have spent the extra for a music Garmin
Ooh, and all the at a glance information that you want... I'll be fiddling with this for weeks! Also worth noting. The colour of the watch I chose is far closer to a colour I would choose, as opposed to the " I think I will pick this and get a strap later" it's a aqua/ duck egg blue, not the green/grey I was expecting.
See the colour I put in my original pic to you.? Well that's the one on my wrist, Sage Grey! They don't look at all similar in real life.
Aaand I had to go out and buy a different charger unit as it goes from the watch into USB C.
