Worthing Parkrun next week anyone?

Mr S and I are going to Goodwood Festival of Speed next Friday and are staying in Worthing on Friday night. Too good an opportunity to miss, so going to do a touch of parkrun tourism. It would be great to meet up with any of you who are “at home” in Worthing or around that area and fancy joining me 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Fingers crossed! We had some torrential rain yesterday afternoon, but it cleared up in the evening. Good job because we had people round for a barbecue!

I was thinking of making the ridiculously long round trip Sandie1961 , but it’s not going to be possible I’m afraid. I have a choir concert on the Friday evening, so no chance of an early night, and another one on Saturday evening, with rehearsals from 4pm. I’m so sorry, it’s not going to work. 😩

It feels a bit weird Sue, especially if you normally run on your own like I do. But if you start near the back you’ll find that a) you don’t get jostled and b) there are fewer people so you won’t feel crowded. Assuming you’re a slower runner that is - if you’re going to whizz through it in 30 mins or less, you’ll need to be nearer the front at the start!

Main thing is to give it a whirl and see how you get on - you might decide you love it, or you might decide it’s not for you. Either way, you win!

it’s surprisingly relaxing if you start near the back. An added bonus is you get to meet VRBs 😂. The tailwalker came in at 1:04 today

I'm seriously thinking about it, it's a big leap, running slowly on my own to running in such a big group.

I've sorted my barcode though so it's a possible

I have made many local friends through parkrun, who I probably wouldn’t have met otherwise. No pressure, but would be lovely to meet you.

I'm sort of looking forward to it now, I ran 5k in 46 minutes this morning so although slow even on a rough day I should come in under the hour 😁
